Got a feeling it may be a poor gate. There is a chance that it could clash with the Leeds United play off game and it's on tv.
Hope not though would be great to see the fans come out in force, but I very much doubt it will happen

| Lot of doom and gloom but so far the club has denied it, so maybe it's just a groundless rumour.

Wakefield's chairman Ted Richardson has also denied that any move is imminent, although a drop in attendances at Belle Vue would make it difficult for the club to ignore any substantial cash offers.
I would of said to squash the rumour something along these lines
Wakefield's chairman Ted Richardson has also denied that we have no intention of selling one of our best players as we have now a winning side that can compete with the top teams, are intention is to push for silverware which has been short coming to this club for some years.
simple really isn't it

Covert tapping-up tactics by Huddersfield? Release a groundless rumour to the press that hints to a player who has shown that he is happy to move clubs that there is money over t'hill. Player suggests to cash-strapped board that he would go if the money is right, and Huddersfield take the chance to off-load a couple of out of favour players for a small bundle of cash.

Exactly!
I think someone mentioned that it was the board who agreed to a deal, so not suprised it was the first Kear had heard of it

The press can report what they want. They call Ted. He says no. Times report it as "not imminent", and then reporter adds own view on cash-strapped Trinity. As the boss of a company, he would be stupid to say "no, not at any cost", as everyone has a price. I would take Robinson and enough cash to strengthen elsewhere for DB.

| Right - I asked one director yesterday and was told 'no deal'
I asked him again today and again 'no deal'
I asked Ted himself and was told 'no deal'
Ponner has now said 'no deal'
As far as I am aware (having spoken to those who have to agree to the deal) there isn't even a deal to agree. The last enquiry from Huddersfield was around 6 weeks ago and that was for Drew - 'no deal'!
But, lets face it - we do have poor gates this year and we know that this side, albeit they are punching above their weight right now, needs some better players in some positions. To make room for new players we have to lose some - that's the way it is. This does not mean that we, as a club, lack any ambition at all - in fact it could be argued that it means exactly the opposite (when you hear the kind of names they are chasing), and - if someone comes along with a load of booty for a player, then you consider it, and give your football director the option. So, all of you who are so quick to praise John Kear for his work on our behalf, but seem to want to jump down the throat of the man who employed him, do you all now suddenly believe that John will sell the wrong man; that he doesn't really know what he's doing and who we need at the club to win us games??? Thought not.
Deals will be done - probably not this one, but they will be. If they are, it is with the general health of this club in mind and it will only be done if it suits OUR plans and OUR ambitions. If JK reckons he can use £100k plus Danny's wages on better projects, then he will - if he doesn't he won't.
I'm disappointed in the anti-club reaction in the face of one poor performance and one glorified rumour - get your feet back on the ground! We are still near the bottom of the food chain and we have to be cleverer than most to be where we are. This will not change overnight, but everything that can be done, with everything we have, will be - if it moves us closer to our goal - a vibrant, competitive club playing in a shiny new home.
Sorry - rant over!

Carefull now, we can't be having reasoned, rational & factual postings.
Thanks TRB, oasis of sense amid a desert of nonsense.

I for one will admit I bit straight away at this rumour and OK I may have been OTT in my reaction, I'm not ashamed of my reactions though, the reason I reacted like I did is because I love and care for this club a much as the next man. Lets hope that folk like me are left with egg on our faces and that no deal (or one that is very benefitial to our club) happens. I'm man enough to admit to my mistakes and I'm man enough to say the reason I make these knee jerk reactions is because of the passion I feel for the club. Many of us have been throug the bad times, (travelling up to Carlisle on a freezing cold winters day one year being a great example) and just when things are looking positive we hear news that brings us crashing back down to earth and breaks our hearts.
