Seven or eight offers! Think we can safely assume they'll be British or French (with our eight overseas players to fit into seven quota spots). We can also assume Johnstone, McMeeken and Russell are three of the eight offers. Ellis says the others are all out-of-contract at the end of the year, and they're established SL players. So that leaves us with something like:
Full backs
Gareth O'Brien (could offer good cover for Max, but doubt he'd want that)
Ryan Hampshire (I know he has a lot of fans on here, but wouldn't want him back. Can't square up the line, can't defend)
Wingers
Fouad Yaha (only 27, useful in back field, spent time in Hull so would love Wakefield)
Luis Roberts (Not proven as such)
Josh Charnley (Tough one. Obviously in the form of his life but he'll be 33)
Matty Russell (similar to above, think we can do better)
Centres
Mathieu Laguerre (can't see this but would take him)
Cameron Scott (rumoured - would be a good signing. Good athlete, plenty of improvement in him)
Zak Hardaker (please no)
Ben Hellewell (would prefer to see Joe Law et al)
Ben Davies (good player, not playing anywhere near enough at Saints so might look elsewhere)
Stefan Ratchford (can;t see it)
Halves
Danny Richardson
Jordan Abdull (not actually sure on this one, could just be that he's at the end of his loan. What a signing that would be.)
Marc Sneyd
Lewis Dodd (sure he'll re-sign at Saints)
Jon Bennison (same)
Hookers
Adam Milner
Amir Borouh
Back rowers
Alex Mellor (not a bad replacement for Ashurst. Good player, often injured)
Sam Hewitt
James Donaldson
Jack Hughes
Oliver Holmes
Middles
Matty Storton (rumoured)
Joe Cator (would definitely take him if fit)
Jack Brown
Yusuf Aydin (why not)
Matt Davis
Ollie Partington (Again, would take him)
Adam Sidlow
Andrew Dixon
Gil Dudson
Mike Cooper
And about 15 London players, though with respect I don't think we'll go there
So if those offers are McMeeken, Johnstone, Russell, Storton, Scott, who are the other two or three? Exciting times indeed.

Davies, Laguerre and Hewitt are probably 3 I’d be most interested in. Hewitt I think has a lot of potential and is very much in the Ashurst mould.
I think we need 2nd row forwards the most and some backline utility cover.
I would take Hampshire though he’s been playing mainly halfback for two years at Wigan now and seems to have made a fairly good transition. He would be a good option to replace Kay but offer cover at fb, halfback and wing.

I'm sure Vagana played some grassroots rugby over here in his younger days.
Wouldnt that change things?

| In my opinion vagana is the player at risk, he has the size but has not been dominant or been a problem to any opposition, he has not been a problem to any defences, I do think he has ability but is low on force or controlled agression.

I don't think we are watching the same player.
When playing prop he was one of our best metre gainers.
Weve just been forced to play him at SR.

I'm not saying you have no right to express this opinion... You absolutely do..
But your expressed observations are more than a million miles from the conclusions I have drawn from my own observation... So far apart, I don't believe we could even have a rational discussion on the matter.

I'm impressed with how he's played, but the potential is there for him to become a star. I think he's being managed with an eye on the future rather than as a week in week out player now.

Kelepi in reverse.
Been⁹ impressed so far with Vagana.
Bain or Boothroyd most at risk for me, which would be tough on Toby as he was looking good.

| For me Bain is the obvious one in danger, he has missed a lot of games.already, there's also the unknown of how his leg will react once he starts playing, even full contact training isn't the same as game play. I like Boothroyd he seems to have a great ability to read the game, especially in defence, he gets himself into the right place quickly, he has good lateral movement, carries the ball hard, has decent hands for a forward. Don't get the criticism of Vagana at all, he has been good for us, has a high work rate in both and defence, carries the ball well, ties in 3 or 4 defenders with every carry, difficult to put to ground and gives us a quick play of the ball. He is not the finished article y any means but has lots of potential

| Apparently we have signed Jack Brown for next season, looks like another player with lots of potential, carries the ball really well, just needs to clean up his discipline.

| As observed, Uele has gained an extension - signed on till end of 2025, DP, is well pleased & says more future years, I do however hope Vagana improves but he has to improve some way !

Vagana was always signed for the next season. I haven't a clue what you're watching but it's the opposite of my thoughts on the guy. He's only 23, has had no pre season, is huge and will grow even more and already causes teams huge problems when he's attacking and you're basically slagging him off.
I've said from almost his first game how impressed I've been, especially as he fell off a plane and started playing for us, no pre-season or anything, which is why DP will not want to push him too much from the start.
The more games he's played, especially at Prop the better he's gone IMO and done a decent job in the back row when we've been short. It was only a few games ago he was most people's Motm, I can't remember the game.
His ceiling is very high IMO. As I said he's only 23, so very young for a prop, and he already causes chaos down the middle, with the opposition defenders usually taking 3 or 4 to bring him down and he just about always gets a quick play of the ball off the back of his drives. Another year of physical development, as well as improvements in his own game and he will be an absolute menace even at SL level.
All you have to do is look at Atoni even though he's in his prime at 28, average last year, he's got fitter and more confident and he's like a new player for us.
