I have never seen a performance as bad from a ref In my life as I did from Ashley Kline that day
He quite literallly saved Wigan from relegation with that performance

| I can guess I'll get some grief for this but to me, anyone who enters the field to chase/attack/intimidate the ref should be banned for life.
Likewise throwing beer cans.

Throwing beer cans is cowardly so I agree.
I'm less convinced on chase/attack/intimidate, there is a certain ambiguity here. You can enter the field and confront the ref due to frustration, it's wrong but understandable, certainly in Kirkpatrick's case and perhaps deserves a season ban so long as the Ref was not physically assaulted. All things are relative and personally, I detest blanket judgements, it's a cop-out, all cases in law are treated individually. Running on and punching the Ref is tempting but that IMO is a genuine life time ban.

| Can not remember a R L fan punching a ref (in the professional game ) but can remember a lady bashing the ref with a umbrella at Odsel

I realise this is a bit off topic but as we are here talking about refs.....
I can accept that there are other options rather than banned for life for entering the field but abusing the ref or any players is a big no from me. Doesn't matter how upset you are. Its inappropriate. Stick to shouting from your seat if you really feel the need.
You can't "enter the field to confront the ref"
There are too many incidents of people getting injured, from the ref in the South African RU game to Monica Seles being stabbed. You can't wait to see what happens. Its just a rule.
These are the current stadium rules from our website:
"Unauthorised persons are forbidden from entering the field of play, unless advised to do so in an emergency. Any person entering the field of play without permission may be charged with aggravated trespass and will be banned from the Stadium."
You can be in prison for up to 3 months for aggravated trespass.

I know, that's not up for debate. Only the punishment level is, which needs to be relative to what happened.
The two old brothers who rather comically chased Kirkpatrick didn't deserve a life ban and because it happened in the days of non-hysterical common sense I think they were banned for a few games. Kirkpatrick was never in danger as it was not what any sensible person would call aggravated and if he wasn't the gutless fool he was he wouldn't have run, he'd have taken the pensioners ear-bashing like most of us would.
Different world now and I'd make it a season ban in their case, had it been truly violent ie aggravated trespass regardless of age then a lifetime ban.

If Fuller felt threatened, no matter who it was, if they were on the field, I'm OK with him defending himself.
The RFL don't see it that way though and he would have got a ban if true.

Was he on the field? And was he having a go at the player?

It wasnt on the field the changing rooms where portacabins and players had to walk of the pitch to the cabins.felt threatened it was a 15 year old lad and the incident in question was not reported to any official so the club didnt get into trouble hence no ban.even though all around where yelling at the lad to report it...the point im making is your ok for fans to be banned without causing harm but it appears that a player is ok to do as he wants.for me fans shouldnt automatically be given lifetime bans unles abh as been committed

With the evidence available, this jury member says guilty. Deserved the cuff round the head.
