Carters attitude to fans IMO is poor - that alone though wouldn't put many off - however combine that with 2 stinking seasons and you have a recipe for disaster.
It's just my opinion but under the Carter regime the club has slumped to it's lowest point since the start of SL in the mid 90's but with less mitigating circumstances.
I conservatively think we've lost 20% of our fan base and get no casual interest at all any more.
Carter and his cronies on here can fantasise all they wish about balancing books living within your means - that's fine if at the same time you are not systematically stripping away the goodwill of many fans.
I'll be honest I generally hate going to matches these days and I never travel away - I turn up out of loyalty only - I don't like the attitude of the stewards or the club in general which IMO is contemptuous, but that's just my opinion. The dismal on field fair is a little more obvious and his inability to sack his buddies has damaged an already fragile club beyond immediate repair.
What sums up this regime to me is the utter devotion and loyalty shown to two dreadful coaches whilst a long serving and loyal fan was hounded out of the club for the sake of a coke bottle - make of that what you will I dare not say anymore.
The club urgently needs an injection of the positive and for me this regime just doesn't get it - even when they give with one hand they take with the other.
Rant over.'"
Sums it up for me too Vasty.
I am going Saturday as we need everyone on board for this game, but long term and all that I simply don't know.

I think these two things are the most worrying for me as the attitude of the chairman runs right through the club and we are not in a position to play take it or leave it with old or new supporters. We should be bending over backwards to encourage people to come to the ground not alienating them. At a recent home game a steward told a bloke near us to stand up when he was sat down at half time, the bloke pointed out that several other people were sat down but the steward still insisted he stand up. The steward then proceeded to go round a few other people asking them to stand as well! A very small and pointless issue that hardly encourages good customer relations.

I said before the season started to a few on here that this would be my last season watching Trin, I've watched em for quite a few years now, longer than some on here and not as long as others, I was lucky enough to see the 9 years of success at the club from 60 to 68, with 2 or 3 disappointments' sprinkled in between those years in 60,62, and 68, unfortunately since then it's been all doom and gloom, a lot of heartache and misery which nowadays takes longer to get over, even if we win on Saturday which I fully expect us to, it won't hide the disappointment at Salford last week, mind you if everybody's jumping ship I might have to delay my retirement and stay on for another season

It's really hard to give it up.
I don't go back as far as you but, I did fall out with the game when we were relegated (after the inception of SL but, it didn't last long and I was back in 1995 and have watched faithfully ever since.
The last 2 seasons have been the hardest watch in almost 30 years but, there is still a buzz when we turn over "better" opposition and it's great when we defy the "experts" and win against the odds, which makes Saturday a must watch game.
Looking forward to this, almost as much as Bradford away, when Kear took over. Lets just hope for the same result

I wouldn't pay any attention to that. If Bradford were playing the original cast of Dad's Army on Saturday he'd be backing Cpt Mainwaring's lot to stuff us.
They don't like it up 'em

| There's no question of me ever giving up. I may reduce number of games for various reasons but I'll always be a Trinity fan and I'll always watch when I can.

| Reading MC's most recent Twitter post it looks like he is in need of a hug. I have stated before that I no longer go to away games and will be giving up my season ticket after this season. I usually missed quite a few of the home games by being away but I still bought my season ticket but no more.
We are ending this season in a far worse position than last despite promises that if we survived we would be on a more sustainable position. We read about clubs even those in the middle 8's signing this player etc in preparation for next season. What is our strategy wait until we know which league we are in and then look to replace the current squad with cheaper options. I doubt we would stay full time if relegated.
I sense listening to BS that he now realises the massive task ahead of him with the squad we have. He sounds frustrated and is looking to blame the ref etc because he just cannot find the formula to get this team to win.

| Who else is there to take over. For years now people have said someone is waiting in the wings if x person goes. I think we all know that's not the case. I agree that there should be more done yo make match day a more enjoyable experience and that the over zealous stewarding together with the student season ticket gaff etc haven't helped. You go to Newcastle and can take food and drink in go to Wakey and that's a no no. Maybe if prices of water etc were reduced people wouldn't mind buying in the ground . Having said this I still thank god mc took over with the remit to run a club within its means. If that brings championship them so be it but I fear it could be the start of the end as there are a generation of supporters who have known nothin but super league

Similar to Bradford in that respect to SL fans, i started following them in the Glory years and make no bones about it i started watching as a glory fan (live near Leigh for godsake) they had the best players and played the most entertaining rugby. When the first admin came a think a few washed there hands of it all but thats not whats needed, everyone needs to pull together, since then we maybe in the CH but the feel about the club is alot more positive seem to have a chairman who knows what hes doing and isnt running the club unduly and cutting the cloth accordingly.
Ive watched more rugby during the decline than i did pre 2012, fans will still return as many of you i bet bleed Trinity through and through just need to give them something to look forward to maybe that means dropping and trying the rebuild with the correct people in charge but there will always be people stood on the stands in the rain watching the club theyve grown up with and cant let go.
If you do go down you need to go down fighting (starting after saturday of course ) that will show at least some do care about what happens.

| Think some of the MC critique on here is harsh. He's not perfect but I think he's doing what circumstances will allow- i also think we'll find fault with any chairman who picks up our poisoned chalice. Ted is looked on fondly by some but I think heindsight is generous to him and we're quick to remember his avuncular generosity and forget the amateursism and nepotism under him. Glover looked like he was running it new efficiently and listening to fans until you realise he wasn't paying for any of it. Carter doesn't promote like glover or please the fans like ted but he does run an organised club with professional systems that balances the books. Boring to some but possibly what context dictates.
I don't see the alienation of fans other than those who rant from the safety of their keyboard without setting foot in Bellevue in which case I think they get what their 'criticise without contributing' attitude deserves. I think it's pretty clear Carter isn't moaning at the majority on here who actually attend games. I know 'coke gate' angered many but I'm in the minority who don't think you are entitled to bringing your own food and drink save perhaps baby food or bottle. It's not what the big premiership clubs alllow and personally I feel it looks more professional than not. I don't know details of how the stewards dealt with the fan in question and I'd be annoyed too but not enough to throw away 30/40 years of being a supporter - just seemed extreme.
I know Carter doesn't promote the club to some's liking but I don't know what can be done that hasn't already failed to win over an apathetic city. I'll defer to those who know advertising and marketing.
I'm no crony. I felt he let Webster stay too long but then I don't know what it costs to sack mid contract. We'd play better in front of bigger crowds but then I suppose you'll only get those crowds if your performance on the pitch entices them in.
He's not perfect but he'll do for me until the millionaire superior alternative some feel is waiting secretly in the wings reveals himself.

Well thought out with a reasoned point of view, unfortunately the usual culprits won't see it that way.

| I support Wakefield Trinity and M C just happens to be the chairman. My views on his performance don't matter, its his club and he will run it as he sees fit. I don't agree with many things that have gone on but like many I can only watch from the side lines . M C s got one hell of a responsibility not only to the club but also the city of Wakefield. Relationships need to be built with a hole host of organisations , fans, councils, and media to name a few and that's a problem area for the club and Mr Carter.
