As they took him down the touchline someone shouted that it was the longest run he'd ever managed. Cruel but funny at the time. Any one else confirm???'"
Had a look on rugby league project and we had a prop that year called Nigel Murray played for us 4 times that year - can’t actually picture him though

Yeah Nigel that was him. 1980-81 played 45 games according to wiki.

Nigel Murray was (probably still is, although I haven't seen him in a while) about 6'3, dark hair and bearded, he used to work at Ferrybridge power station in admin, many moons ago.
I recall him kicking a long range goal in the dying minutes of a game to draw a game (but I may be wrong -funny thing memories), perhaps against Whitehaven.
Nigel was a Fev fan and really wanted to play for them, but signed for us instead.

I remember him kicking that goal. Was a good prop without being a superstar. I liked him.

| Memorable to me. Took a wrong turn, got done at Horseferry Magistrates and it cost me £30.00 and three points. Both fathers got paralytic and we lost one on the south bound carriage way coming back. Great game. Billy Harris and Colin Forsyth. They don’t make em like that anymore. Think Ian Van Bellen was propping against them.

| Steve Tinker lived for quite a time in Flanshaw. It was a council house and I'm not sure, but the house may have been "retained" by Trinityas Jan Prinsloo lived there for a while when he first joined us.
