Think it will help Jacob being behind Tim Smith with you, he won't be relied on to do the all the playmaking. When he arrived with us he was basically thrown straight into the team when he should have been eased in & learnt his role in the team.

Out of interest whats his standard of goalkicking like? Know he has kicked some but don't know whether he is a front line kicker?

In which case that's almost certainly Sammutt to FB.

Indeed, I'm baffled by the negativity of some of our own fans and those from other clubs.

Sammut, Smith, Godiinet, Miller, McShane - these are quality players with real pedigree, none of them are speculators really.

Miller was an Aussie Schoolboy and the Toyota Cup young player of the year - not guarantees of success but not rubbish credential either.

We also have a good front row and two very exciting players in Ali and Kirmond who is also a leader and one of the best centres in the game in Collis when fit. We also had signs of quality from Lyne last year and who can't like the ginner on the wing a014.gif

Come on folks lighten up.

Or maybe Hall in the rare event that Collis and Lyne are both fit and in the centres.

Tbh I can't really remember him kicking goals while with us but we did have quite a few take on the role. If I remember right I'm sure he kicked quite a few while in Oz.

We should have a plenty of options in the kicking game department.

Quote: Wildcat26 "I wonder if the thought has crossed Webster's mind of playing Miller as a third Pivot at 13?

It's worked successfully in the past for other teams, we aren't lacking in the pack so would potentially be a good idea to try out.'"

Too small and wouldn't be able to do all the defensive graft required or take the ball up.

Big Daniel Smith being given a run at 13 at the back of an already big pack would great as he has also got a good off load game in addition to being quite mobile.

Can see the first choice 17 now as....

1. Sammut.
2. Owen
3. Collis
4. Lynne
5. Riley
6. Hall
7. Tim Smith
8. Anderson
9. McShane
10.Scruton
11.Kirmond
12. Ryan
13. Daniel Smith

14. Lauitiiti
15. Paea
16. Kirke
17. Godinet

Welcome to the rollercoaster that is Wakefield Trinity Jacob.

Hopefully he can realise his full potential here. With the help of playing behind a big pack and playing with Tim Smith and also Webster guiding him it may work for out for the lad. His role will be different to what he was expected to do at Hull, so judging him on last year is hard.

Depends where Webster sees him playing I like Sammut and would be devastating linking up from full back but just as devastating when a big forward runs straight at him near our line and runs over the top of him.On the other hand Webster might fancy moulding Miller into the full back role who knows in Webster we will have to trust.

Really wanted it to work out for milky at FC, but to much pressure was put on him from the get go. Gentle wanted to build his team around him, and was on a MASSIVE wage with us. Very lively and very likable lad.

good luck milky

I think Miller has bags of potential he's only 22 still plenty to learn. Hull got him thinking he would change them but at 22 he is work in progress. Exciting signing. I would still keep Sammut tho.
