| Quote: Mr Bliss "There were loads of trouble after the game. We saw broken bottles on the floor and a 'group' of wakey fans (who sounded worse for ware) were hanging about doing their level best to wind up a Salford couple. The stewards needed to sort out both Wakey and Salford fans. All this in front of a the catalan youngsters. A great advert for 'our' game.'"
Where did you get bottles it was one bottle..?? a brown glass bottle that was in big chunks, it rolled down the terracing as some Salford lady said if it was thrown it would of shattered get a grip, loads of trouble out side the ground where..?? there was a couple (Salford fans) and a guy (Salford) fan having a debate on if the bottle was thrown or rolled down the terrace.. that was it apart from the two Salford lads that was fighting each other... I say we sgould get CCTV then we can sort out the bull from the truth... if I saw any Wakefield fan or away fans fighting or throwing bottles as you put it I would ask for them to be removed and a ban... (did you see the bottle thrown as in one...??)

Which in itself is incredibly strange considering the accusations.

It is a no Brainer for any fans home or away DO NOT BRING BOTTLES to the game not wanted or needed, then that person should get a ban from all sports grounds not just Rugby League..

| Whilst we try to fill the gaps of what happened I can only relay what I did witness and my account is gospel truth.
I left my seat at the end of the match and went to the gents near the Cats bar. As I left and walked up towards the Doncaster Rd entrance there were maybe 4 or 5 Salford fans walking towards me. They were quite loud so I can hear them complaining of bottles being thrown from the back. There was then noise of a commotion from the Doncaster Rd end and these Salford fans cried out Edit Yorkshire" stewards (sp) and agreed to rush back. They ran to the entrance gate. By the time I walked up to pass the gate I could see a line of stewards blocking their path and denying them reentry to the ground.
Beyond the line of stewards I could see 2 stewards restraining a highly fired up young guy who wore no team colours. The guy clearly looked to be fired up for drink and wanted a fight within someone.
As I walked through the snicket I asked someone walking by what it was all about. He indicated it was Salford fans causing trouble. I only have his word for it.
I don't go in the North Stand this season as I have seated ticket. However if it helps bring a little more clarity this my eye witness account.

| Didn't see any bottle get thrown but saw plenty on the floor along with cans of lager.
Salford fans were the ones causing the bother pushing stewards, generally wanting to start a fight. 2 Salford fans even started fighting each other. Yet, I didn't see any Wakey fans fighting?

| Tbh I didn't see any trouble and I was in the north stand all the way throughout the game :S?
Salford's supporters turn out was shocking to say they've got a new stadium and aren't in that bad of a position in the league!

| Simple solution.
1. Launch The Fleetmaster North Stand publicly as a "home stand", giving all fair notice.
2. Install simple raised barriers on either side which can be raised at FT & man with security.
3. Encourage all home fans wanting to "Go North" to enter through the northern turnstiles.
4. Allocate an area outside the stand as "smoking"- as a smoker I do actually understand others don't want the smoke I exhale (plus there are children about, not on in my book, not something I do!) & encourage smokers to move there if they want a quick fag WHILST watching the game.
5. Up security within the stand to eliminate anyone found to be breaching club/stadium policy.
The North stand has been brilliant for creating an atmosphere & long may it continue, but we need to take simple steps to ensure we get rid of the teething problems we've experienced.

| Few people I used to stand with came in north for catalan, cas but gone back to place near bottle bar now. Fans will stand where they have done for years, which is a shame but can understand why. I'll be staying north atmosphere was good in there again, especially in the 2nd half when it filled up a bit more

ONE bottle or more than one WTF????
I am not sure if there were one or more smashed bottles but the fact remain that there was/were glass bottle/s in the ground. Surely the club have the right to stop anybody bringing glass into the the ground.
Something the club need to look at in the future.
