He is not fit enough for longer stints, the guy looks like a farmer... He has been given a chance and should be taking it IMO. His condition is terrible and either he or the club are doing something drastically wrong about it. He is a full time professional and should be able to lose the weight and get fit. IMO we are a meal
Ticket to an extra year in his career.

Give the guy a break and find another fall guy.'"

Lets see what he can do next season before we knock him we gave the likes of Jeffries enough benefit of the doubt

Quote: Trojan Horse "I said he went ok not that he was amazing. I can accept he has work to do and hope he will. It's clear he is trying.

There is something there and hopefully we will see the real Hickey next season.

It must be deflating when games gone and your on for your first stint and the packs already dominated. On a side note yet another consistent performance from Amor. Other than his one misdemeanor of ball retention.'"

It must be but thats the job of a replacment prop, he comes on and lifts/changes the game, not an easy thing to do but there you go.

The difference is Jeffries turned up "fit for purpose". i'm sure you'll find that amusing but you get the idea icon_smile.gif

I know this is a very split topic with regards to Hickey and i had hoped he'd come over and improve the team but thats not happened, he's turned up unfit and overweight.

Some feel he should be gone for taking the pee in the first place, other feel we should forget he's robbed wages of us and give him some more money while he's getting fit and hope he improves next season.

Walshaw did more than him and he was on the last 20-15 mins

come on falla lighten up,he's only having a bit of fun here.
You've got to admit that he has the physique of an amateur sunday morning player does he not?

Why wait, it is obvious that he is just not good enough, forget his weight he does not have any ability to defend, it is to late to coach into him the core skills required. Just watch the tapes of the games he has played so far he is a massive weak link in an already pathetic defensive line. Watch him either jump out of the line at Salford, against Cas etc and the ease in which the attack see this and go round him. Alternatively he decides not to move up at all. He is just not good enough, He does not understand the game and should be sent home, silk purses and sows ears spring to mind. The only good thing you can say about him is that although he is one of the worst defenders ever to play the game he is still a better defender than Tommy Lee.

Hickey reminds me so much of our 1970's prop Les Tonks.

The thing is with Hickey I think there is potential there and if he gets himself fit and has a propper pre-season then I can see him being an asset next season.

mate, i despair. although i agree with you, gerrard should be nowhere near a super league first grade at the moment. he is unfit, overweight. his floor speed is poor. his go forward is poor. his lateral speed is non existant and although his effort in previous games has been ok, last night it was definitely not there. i am sure gerrard knows this and so does jk, what i can;t understand is why jk keeps embarrassing the guy by playing him. gerrard is a good guy that knows he needs to control his weight , get fit and builld his stamina. as i said in a previous post , he may not be with you next year but if he is and fit he can be a great player but to say he doesn't understand the game , is total rubbish. he has great knowledge of the game as any professional should have. if you had seen him play in oz you wouldn't have made the comments you have just made. as for tommy lee thats another story.

Jarrad Hickey is a joke rugby player (i dont make that comment lightly) one of the least mobile players i've seen in my thirty years watching wakey, the fans are mocking him (home and away) so why shouldnt AW. We need him gone and gone soon....

On the plus side Kyle Amor was excellent last night and is starting t convince me he could be a top top forward.
