I can sort of see where you are coming from and if the time frame was not against Wakefield, then the impact would only be a delay! As it is, it could mean the death of the Community Stadium scheme and all the NIMBY's will end up with is industrial units and the City loses out in sports facilities... simple as!

| Unlucky guys. Must be gut wrenching. A move to Barnsley to be announced in the short-term then I guess?

How long will the enquiry take and is there still a chance we can be playing at Newmarket in 2012?'"
Six months at the quickest and a year tops... probably!
Will the PI go the way of Yorkcourt, almost certainly, but will the stadium and community sports facilities survive... I really do not know the answer!

Some people think I am a schizophrenic, but they don't really know us.: |

"the average for each stage of the process shows that an ‘average’ call-in case takes in the region of 56 weeks from being referred to the GO to a decision being issued by the Secretary of State."

| If we do go to Barnsley then until Newmarket gets built we would suerly be in a better posistion in terms of stadium than Cas are unless they get their funding.

| Well, sad that it’s going to take a bit longer, but in the long term this could be a great benefit to us. We can now become an expansion club and get special treatment from the RFL, yippee!
I cannot see this news changing too much. We already knew it wouldn’t be built by the 2012 season. So go to Barnsley, try to keep as much of the old crowd as we can and attempt to built up a support base there. But since neither us or Castleford are near getting our stadiums built, we are still in the running for 2012, unless of course the RFL decides to drop both teams.

I admire your optimism. Will Yorkcourt definately go through with the project now with such a delay expected?

How can you say that, if it was going to be in the favour of yorkcourt then they would have left it,
Are yorkcourt willing to take the risk on having to pay the potential costs involed in this if it goes against them, the cost implications are massive, in this climate, is it going to be worth it ?

| Barnsley it is then for a year or so.
We need to stop feeling disappointed and start working out our game plan from here. We're from Wakefield, we've never rolled over before, we're not starting now!
We have positives to play from both NM, Oakwell and the fact we will have moved out of BV.
We have an untapped market and an entrance into a new support base in S.Yorkshire we need to highlight and exploit this, we will be out of past-dated facilities and be renting (just as Wigan, Leeds, Hull, Hudds do) and a small shift in location to meet a new support base is not unlike Celtic.
We can show we are at an advanced stage of development with NM (all the evidence is well documented online) and show a commitment having already moved out of our past-dated facilities.
Is it worth hiring a professional legal team to represent us at a PI? No offence to SWAG or anyone but we can't let these outsiders win another battle! If it takes fund raising to pay for legal representation or assistance cross examining opponents claims so be it.

Yes that always happens, it is not a legal team as such but Yorkcourt's design team and legal advisor's will all be involved and coordinate the inquiry. However, it is a public inquiry and as such they want to hear from local people on both sides of the debate!

| Thinking about it, unless Cas get their ground built we will be ahead of them in terms of frnchise applications in my opinion. Presuming it is Oakwell we will be playing at, that is a better ground than the Jungle and it also meets Super League criteria.
So i think we all need to keep the faith because the way i see it, we will be playing in a super league standard stadium come 2012 but i wont be the one we were all hoping for, however i believe that we wont mind playing Barnsley for a while so long as it keeps us in super league.

But Oakwell isn't in Wakefield. It's not even in the same county
