| I like the idea of running mega raffle? Is it possible to set one up online as people donate more money if it's by card online due to lazyness?
Prizes could be stuff like
Private box for 4 games
Pair of Platinum memberships (then gold, silver etc.....)
Travel with the squad on team coach to London match
Watch a match with Agar in his box
Signed stuff
Local businesses would donate prizes surely (Nando's annual pass, golf courses, cinema etc...)
If you can get over 50 prizes people will buy more tickets as they have more chance of winning and if the prizes are things that the general public can't buy (ala watch match with agar) then you will generate interest.
I would be willing to pay £20 for a raffle ticket for the prizes shown above (would probably buy a couple).
I'm alreaday a member of the lottery but would get more excitement being in a draw for something different.

| Quote: asmadasa "1. Close the shop in the Ridings Centre and sell merchandise on line and at the ground only.
2. Approach big companies in the Wakefield area for sponsorship such as the Wakefield Shirt company or the Car Supermarket Place at Denby Dale Road that was mentioned on another discussion willing to support the club but ignored.
3. Is there something we can do to appeal to those fans of the great Wakefield Trinity film of 'This Sporting Life' such as Mickey Rourke/Russell Crowe who were great admirers of Richard Harris playing Frank Machin. Or approach The Rank Group who have a net income of £164 million per year as they financed the film in 1963 at a cost 0f £230,000. Think they'll still be making money out of the 2008 DVD release ....'"
Wont get you very far ITV Global own what use to be Rank film group. Rank group these days is just casinos and bingo. Network DVD were the last to release dvd, after licencing the rights from ITV.

| Quote: sandaltrinityfan "Mr Carter,
I believe that you and your family were involved in the selling of your interest in the former Yorkshire Traction buses concern to the Stagecoach bus group in 2005. No doubt you are aware that this company is one of the largest transport operators in the world and the major shareholders Brian Souter and his sister Ann Gloag are two of the richest individuals in the country.
Would it be pertinent to ask if your relationship with the Stagecoach company during the YT sale brought you into close contact with the Souter family, and if this was the case, would that company or those individuals be a possible source for full club sponsorship or some other financial involvement with Wakefield Trinity.
I am not sure whether Stagecoach are involved elsewhere in SL, or any other sport sponsorship, but would a formal or informal approach be something that could be investigated?
Just a thought.................'"
Not much point Wakefield is Arriva land.

| Making the most of the mobile phone culture could be an avenue to go down. A reverse auction for example, buy something like an IPAD for £500 and on game day announce whoever texts the lowest unique bid wins the prize, announce it during the match and you’ve got a five to eight thousand captive audience, if everyone text in you could be looking at (say £2 a text) £10K – 16K per home match. Best case scenario would be a circa £200k windfall over the course of the season all for the expense of setting up the number (which I have no idea of the costs) and the expense of the technology (which would be circa £6500 if bought alone without the subsidy of a sponsor (Currys/PC World).
Granted this is not much use in the short term , but looking ahead....

Yep another good use of mobles, again find a local company to sponsor it. A relatively cheap ways of improving income. £1 charge I reckon, another potential £50k there. Only £150k to find!

| What about a legends game, I can count at least seven ex professionals on the payroll all who have access to other ex players, maybe auction off two playing spots to fans who fancy a game. Revenue would be generated through the turnstiles and other associated sales.

| Have a players Olympic day, all the first team do a decathlon, team up with a bookie, sponsor and take bets on individual and overall, have stalls, foods, drinks selling, have stuff from the club shop on sale, a carnival atmosphere open to everyone.

| In the carnival day, have face painting, guess the number of something competitions, bring and buy, cake sales, those pugilist games with the giant padded sticks like they had in Gladiator and have it over water.

| Get some retro shirts on sale. I've got some old shirts that i would like to wear again but sadly no longer fit (for example the yorkshire cup winning one in '92) and i'd happily buy another that does. Also the last lot of retro shirts were only supplied in the one size which didn't fit me, i'd have bought one if they did. Get a couple of some examples in to try out for size and then place your order with a deposit that covers cost, saves ending up with surplus stock. When they arrive the balance is paid which is pure profit.

That, my friend, is a bloody good idea that could be implemented with very little cost/effort; a different but similar prize at every home game and at the last home game of the season, something MAHOOSIVE.
Well done that man.

| I don't know how well it could be marketed but, with both ourselves and Bradford (alleged) in difficulties, a game between the 2 clubs seems like a good idea ?
Obviously, players are now flying off on holls and some will be involved in the World Cup but, can something be done ?
(preferably while we still have enough players to make up a team !)
Both clubs could use the occasion a vehicle to sell season tickets, merchandise etc and if we involve some youngsters, why not promote the 1873 club.
