It wasn't Cameron they announced - it was his brother, Herman.
No efforts to sign Proctor, they said.

| Poching hoping/looking forward to having Taufua next season (SL dependent, it seemed).
Chester wanted Lineham.
Poching wanted Taufua.
Carter's message was - coach leads on signings wish list.

| Quote: Trojan Horse "Hybrid pitch? I thought it was going to be a 4G pitch so that we can rent out and maximise it. If it’s going to be hybrid does that affect the usage.
The academy would be a travesty but I would hope a number of the current crop that show promise would be brought into the first team squad for 2023. Young homegrown players would hopefully make up the nucleus of a championship team if we face that.
I’m glad that part time isn’t the only option and there may be the option to build a competitive team should the unthinkable happen.'"
Wonder what the cost of the pitch is having possibly the best surface in SL would the money be better spent on the West side

| Quote: dboy "The hybrid will allow 30 hours of use per week.
Still in dialogue with Wakefield FC and an amateur community club who want 2 nights a week for training.
Hybrid, IMO, is better than full synthetic.'"
30 hours seems short. 4 hours a day for 5 days training/drills plus 2-6 hours for 1st team/reserves/academy is 22-26 hours. That would be just trinity usage. Seems a little on the low side.
I don’t know the difference. Why would hybrid be better?
I’m assuming it has a longer life, can take more weekly usage and has a longer life span total.

You think our players train 4 hours per day, 5 days per week?
Hybrid smells better than plastic. Probably. Better for bugs. Gives Bathy something to do. I don't bloody know!

Priority is to get increased income that can then pay for further improvements.

| Quote: dboy "But apart from that it was a waste of time...
Also revealed that Ken Davy props Hudds up to the tune of £2.5m per year.
Carter doesn't like Jon Wilkin. Quite likes Brian Carney.
C4 deal doesn't provide any real funding to clubs. Worth less than a £1m per year.
Fan fines have cost the club big money over the last few year's.
Lineham is Chester's fault - forced into 3 year deal - Carter hopes he does amazing for Fev and comes back all-guns-blazing next year (read this as hope he does amazing and Fev keep him).
Poching wants Crowther at LF, but needs to use his versatility at this time. Really missing Liam Kaye.
Lino basically refused to play hooker.'"
That last line is the most concerning. Whether you agree he should be at hooker or not it doesn’t exactly strike me as the ‘team first’ mentality you need in our situation. And the coach needs to be strong enough to enforce it.

| MC said we've had enquiries this season about availability of Hall and Murphy and two others, who I think were Tanginoa and Lino, but not certain.

Fifita.
Also, Wakey were very close to signing a player they wanted, but the other club came back wanting some of our big guns.
Deal ended there.
In my head that was Leeds & Dwyer and they wanted someone like Kelepi and/or Lino - that's all just in my head though...

| I was surprised when Willie said Lino refused to play hooker.I assumed a player's contract would require him to play wherever the coach wanted, but may be wrong.

| Also, Minards was minded to contact McManus at Saints about the "cheap, low" social media posts, when he found out about them on Monday. #Chairgate
He decided not to, saying we won't be stooping to their level; Wakefield live the values of their mission statement.

Agreed, but WP said there was nothing to be gained from forcing players to do something.
He said ML told him he had played 9 earlier in his career and it didn't work. WP says he took him at his word.
WP leaves that conversation with his values and standards intact. Up to ML to balance his conscience.

| Why would the Academy be disbanded should we be relegated?
This makes no sense at all.
The Academy was granted a 4 year (I think) license last year which guaranteed them a place in the elite Academy until at least 2027.
This includes the funding to do so.
Should we go down that pathway would be crucial to the future of the club so I am very confused as to why the club leadership of the club are planning on winding it up should we drop down a division.

Sorry but why are people still missing the point.
Any stadium development needs to be revenue driven. So every investment has to have a pay back or there is no point.
A pitch that can offer 30 hours usage a week will allow us to invite one or maybe two other sports to play at BV. Meaning we can rent out the pitch and even the entire stadium.
In the short term that investment will be returned far quicker than anything we can do with the west terrace.
As everything we do from now on is self funded then it has to be done this way, baby steps. Everything must pay for itself and as quickly as possible.
If they get it right both the floodlights and the pitch will have paid for themselves within as little as five years. I know the calculation for the west terrace and even the most basic re-vamp would now take at least double that and would be totally dependant on us being in SL.

I took the off the cuff comment being more about losing guys we've developed.
