Quote: Dunkirk Spirit "During the past week or so. Box has mentioned on radio Leeds, positive talks with MC, and good news just around the corner, then we’ve just had a photograph on a Twitter page of Ian Bramley, Johnathan Stone, with the Wakefield MP Mary Creagh, saying good news on the way. It’s therefore reasonable for people to expect some news, hopefully good news.'"
if I was either Ian or Jonathan I would of declined the photo shoot and said publicly I'll wait until the stadium is built to have a photo with you Mary

Quote: Jizzer "Just received an email from the council saying the planning meeting will be held on 21st Feb, I guess this was sent automatically to everyone who submitted objections. Check your junk folder if you haven't seen it, it was flagged as spam for me. It says only one representative for the objectors can speak for 3 minutes....however in 'special cases' the number of people who can speak and for how long can be varied. Let's hope they class this as a 'special case', we need more than 3 minutes to cover this sham.'"

I've also received an email regarding the meeting on 21 February, came direct to my inbox.

All one can hope is the apparent support we seem to be getting is dependent upon any objections and judicial review threats against this development from a Trinity point of view are retracted. We've fallen for that once.

Absolutely right, the trust and fans/citizens should be objecting to any planning application for Newmarket development, until they provide funding for the community Stadium. Remember the promise of artificial pitches training ground, community sports facilities etc. Recently, the speculation on this forum is the Council will provide funding as a loan which the trustees will pay the interest. The concern for me is, the loan will not be sufficient to do a complete new build or full redevelopment of. Belle Vue. If such funding was offered, then where would the rest of funding come from, a Piecemeal build would surely end in tears.
We all need to keep pressure on the Council planning process and the Newmarket site developers.

Think it’s got to the stage that we’ve got to get what we can and make the best out of it.

That's exactly what they want - get desperate and take anything. It's alright having a 'modernized' Belle Vue but then having to go to Fev to train because we still haven't got our own facilities. We get less, Yorkcourt get more (land/money) - if we have to settle for a revamped Belle Vue I can live with that but I wouldn't have them wriggle out of the rest aswell.

Unfortunately personal morals or views about the applicant are not valid reasons to object to a planning application. As distasteful as the applicant might be.

Exactly this - seems like YC have played the long game, and it appears to have worked, with many people happy to take whatever scraps they deign to lob at us from their table.

Good Morning

Please see attached Planning and Highways Committee guidance for speakers. Please ignore the time stated on the guidance note and refer instead to the letter (attached to email) you have previously been sent earlier this week, the time of the Committee will be 11:30 on Thursday 21st February 2019. If you are registered to speak at the committee you can ignore this email.

Kind Regards

Can a member of the trust confirm, that the trust will have a speaker attend this meeting, and the speaker will not allow themself or supporters to be fobbed off, as they were at the Ossett meeting last year, when supporters were advised not to raise points until after the meeting had finished. We need everything to be on record, this will only happen to questions/replies given during the official meeting.
Thank you.

Jonathan Stone - Chair, Wakefield & District Community Trust
Phil Townsend - SWAG

This is a Planning Meeting and the Chair will not permit an open debate on the whole Newmarket fiasco so we will focus our objection to the current planning application and why.

I believe it's a public meeting so anyone who wishes to attend is at liberty to do so.
