I presume you've had discussions about this with people from the council. Were they receptive or did they just completely dismiss it?

What the hell is stopping BOX & the council from paying for this stadium to be built, Like MC as said the interest will be easy to pay off. A community stadium in the Wakefield District would provide an arena for local sports around the area plus then there's concerts that could be staged, I just can't comprehend why this wasn't mention before giving Yorkcourt all that land.

the council are not going to commit one way or the other to anything unless they are forced to, they'll be open and receptive to anything to your face, but privately they're hailing a taxi, they have to be FORCED by the pressure of public opinion to do the right thing

the bottom line is, and this just feeds in to everything, if we can just focus on this one thing and make all our assumptions and conclusions using this as defacto truth.....

If the council wanted to get the stadium built......they would have done it already

Wakefield is the 15th. largest city/town/district in the UK with a population of 317,342 on latest figures.
Only one other city/town/ district that has a team in Super League and has a bigger population is Leeds in 3rd place in the UK with 726,936.
After Wakefield and 18th place in the Uk is Wigan with 309,786. Just goes to show what WMDC think about a Community Stadium for the people of Wakefield and Wakefield Trinity,

317,342 is for the Wakefield District which has three rugby grounds, the population of the city is 76886.

Yes the council can easily borrow the money, but Leeds have a good credit history and a sound business plan. Do you or WT? The council would be left with the debt if things go wrong.

If you have such a great plan , surely you can raise the money via a bank?

Would you accept a proposal where the council fund a stadium and retain ownership (like Salford)? I believe you have said you wouldn't and for good reason!

WT has been conned by a grubby developer, a con man and an incompetent council and that is your ,pitch to the RFL later.. RL is a sport. It is not about crowds, facilities or politics it is a game played between 2 teams of 13 people! This year you have been quite good at it!

Good luck today with RFL but I feel they will just ask for concrete plans, and maybe fine or points deduct for breaching members rule but that's it

Only he didn't say that did he. He clarified "we" meant the club the council and the developer. Clearly there are other parties with culpability as well

mid august apparently/probably.

I think that meeting in mid August is just to ratify by full RFL committee whatever is proposed at todays meeting.
