Professional curiosity, forget I'm a mod.
I usually do I find it works best.
I'm all for freedom of speech (within the AUP) I just think if you make a bold statement you might be held accountable.
As far as I am concerned the matter is clarified.
I'm sure you understand.

I'd concur with that, I just don't recall it being so rigorously enforced in a recent high profile example.

Another post on a different thread potentially slandering a sponsor/owner seems to avoid moderation also

| Regarding running out of beer.
I was under the impression that all catering and catering supplies inside the ground are carried out by a third party, and that the Wildcats have no control over this.
If so then surely, this isn't his call.
I was speaking to Davide about this earlier in the year, and he said it was a big mistake that the club had made, and it was a decision taken by AG and JE

What was the mistake? Outsourcing the drinking suppliers? I recall a big deal was made over the fact the club controled food and drink sales in the ground after the previous regime had outsourced it for guaranteed income per month/annum. Wonder what changed their policy?

| The decision came about, through thinking of time that it took to sort out.
Because of this they get monthly income through billing the contractor on a monthly business rather than bringing in the revenue, and he thought that the calculations were all to pot.
If you buy a pint of beer at £1, and then sell it on for £2-£3 and sell several pints per game, you should be making a profit and not a loss.

Agreed, but then you have the cost and responsibility, for staff, "losses", ordering, stocking, etc. etc.
The current deal removes all that and gives a guarenteed, regular income...swings and roundabouts and I don't know the answer.
Maybe option B, but with a bigger guarenteed income??

| I wasn't at the match on Friday and have only skimmed through this thread. For what it's worth I think the club should allow all fans - home, away and neutral - to stand where they want, steward the ground properly and ban any trouble makers for life. Hopefully we haven't got long left at BV - let's deal with the problem of a few s but keep the atmosphere we've had for decades. No segregation at BV!!!

| It's simply economics.
Do you go for guaranteed income with no peaks or troughs or do you take all costs and try for the big win.
Having the guaranteed income and no cost is a well used model and for a business where other income streams are quite volotile as well, I'd say it is a sound plan.
When sponsor and gate receipts are keeping the cash flow looking good, they can reconsider.
No difference to a fixed rate mortgage.

Clearly the club aren't getting it quite right at the moment, but I disagree.
The North Stand being home fans only, has transformed the atmosphere at BV.
It was like having 26 away games in previous seasons!

I agree that the N Stand is a good place to be and has changed the feel at BV but it should be the "home stand" because we make it such. As far as I'm aware you could, as an away fan, go into the South Stand at Leeds or the stand down the side at Warrington or the Shed end at Cas - but would you want to? If Wakey fans fill the NS brilliant but BV is just not designed for segregation, it's not working and it's causing more problems than it solving

The problem is that the N stand has always been the traditional away end. By the time we move to NM then it will be a moot point, but if not then that end will be established as our "kop" if you like.

| I don't see why segregation is causing a problem.
I've stood on the WT for a while in the past but at the end of the day (I think Vastman said this before) it's a piece of concrete you stand on for 2 hours or so 13 times a year. If the club decide to change it you have no "right of way" to argue imho.
The only thing the club has done is asked everyone to make the North Stand theirs to improve atmosphere. Something that has been talked about for a long time when we obviously make more noise away when we are pushed together.
They then tried to make it safer by asking away fans to stick together too.
The idiots from Cas and Wakefield took that as an invitation to stand on the line and bait each other. when pushed even further apart the Wakefild idiots followed the line so they could be near to any away fans to either bait or be baited.
Segregation isn't the issue. It's an effect of some low lives that spoil the whole event for other people.
