| Quote: feline "The way I see it we had a terrible year last year, our hopes for this year rested on the stadium getting the go ahead resulting in successful franchise bid and ability to attract new better players and retain ones we have. We have had a major set back re the ground, this is our last a Belle Vue but God forbid is not our last ever. We need to stand together and fight for OUR club and survival. Agreed we as fans need to be better informed and there needs to be far more two way dialogue between fans and club for mutual benefit and survival. There maybe alot of unhappiness with what we have at the moment but not one of you has an alternative so i suggest backing the club in our fight to get a franchise or we may not have a club to support ...or moan about. So who is in ?
I am first on the list foloowed by ?'"
Do you mean we all need to stick together as fans or as fans blindly follow the current BOD without criticism?
For me the Status Quo just isn't an option. Ted's pot-less, but his stake in the club is an asset to him. If someone wants to take over he's not going to give up easy, the man wants to see some kind of return from the club. What we have is a massive conflict of interest, what's good for Ted and family isn't what's good for the club. Imo he will hang on regardless to see if by some miracle we get a franchise or eventually PP for Newmarket, then try and sell his stake. In the meantime the club drops further into the mire. It's hard to see anyone wanting to invest with the current family chip shop style set up.
It's hard to see this current set up delivering a plan B, which is a shame because I really think Barnsley could be success for the next year or so.

You don't have to! But when people like TRB,Big Al,feline etc put the time and effort into the club that they do it would be churlish not to follow their example. This is our last season at Belle Vue and if the hardcore supporters don't pull together our future looks bleak. I,m with you Sue,Trinity till i die

Squadbuilder.........building a squad together: |
|
| Well at present we can look at the past and say we should have done this that or the other..Ted should go , Kear should go , we should re sign wally Lewis etc etc We should have kicked on from the top 6 , we were Peterson away from the final of Challenge Cup but battles of old pale to insignificance with our current battle to get a franchise. I would suggest we have a plan B to be put to the shareholders to please the RFL and give them no reason to exclude us but we can all strengthen our cause I am sure by writing to the RFL etc to show we care about our club and WE are the reason we are where we are and we deserve to stay. MOPS etc do not sit idly on here type a letter/ email to RFL at same time, you will be amazed how good positive action makes you feel and how rewarding it can be . Thank you x

| One thing announced at the Season Launch was that "we have sold more season tickets than ever before." Did anyone else think this was a bit of an exaggeration?

| You can change the coach as often as you like, while ever ted is running the show it will make no difference.
Up until JK we were heading for relegation.
Up until JK losing 3 of his key players for last season, we were making good progress on the field, year on year.
Bad chairmen cling onto their job, while good coaches don't.
Put those players back into his squad and we would possibly have made the play offs again, relative success? Put a professional, proactive and relatively well financed board in, and who knows?
Where can we get one? But replacing one coach with another is only short term firefighting!!

think the time has now passed where a viable alternative can be brought in and be a success sadly, no coach or investor in their right mind would come in now, however a year ago they probably would have, I got off here for a while because of the Newmarket will save our day mentality, it wont and would never have without a solid playing platform and the core fans that go with that, we had all our eggs in one basket from 2009 and now the basket has a bloody great big hole in it, i will always respect trb and others for what they have done for my club but in the end somebody somewhere got the economics and maths wrong, I fear now our best hope is a drop out of SL and a steady recovery over a period of time,no thats not our best hope, its our only hope.'"
All very true and maybe could be forgiven if they hadn't put all our eggs in the Pearman basket, then put all our eggs in the Thornes Park basket. With the current lot of eggs gone in the Newmarket basket do we have any eggs left let alone a basket to put them in?

Every year we are told that season ticket sales are up 100% or so on the previous year. By my reckoning we must have had about 10 season ticket holders in our first year of super league and even that seems a large number if you add 100% each season!

| Quote: altofts wildcat "I don't understand why lots of people are having a go at TRB and AL. From what i have seen, these two put their time and effort in and love the club and if every other supporter were as committed to the cause as much as TRB and AL then the club would be far better off.
To all those people who are constantly having a go at the club, you should support your club through thick and thin. You might not agree with everything that is done but you should still offer your support. If you as so called supporters are not willing to do this then the club is far better off without you.'"
1. The reason people have a go at these two in particular is because they are simply in the firing line because of the way they defend the club (rightly of wrongly). As I posted on another thread some time ago people need someone to shake a stick at when they want / need answers. The club that people are so quick to defend are the one's who put these individuals in the firing line. What we have is a couple of passionate supporters who have gone above and beyond the role of the casual supporter. As far as every supporter being committed to the cause - they are committed to the cause, but no believing in the BoD or people within the club does not make a person any less committed. If you are looking for everyone to go along with everything club has to offer at the moment then can I suggest you move to Disneyland. You will find the fairytale you are looking for there.
For argument sake can you please tell me how a club that barely survives season after with decreasing attendances would be better off without the supporters who see it differently.
The fact is we are in this position because of the Chairman and the Board of Directors. They were taken in by Pearman, there are the one's who promised that our stadium would be updated when we won our right to super league (on appeal). Three years ago they were aware that things needed to be done to either sort out Belle Vue or to move. Once again they have struggled to deliver but have never struggled to point the finger at other people when it goes wrong. It's true what they say about excuses 'They are like butt holes, everyone has one and they all stink.'
The frustration comes from the lack of information, whether it be good or bad. I, along with many others don't expect the club to publicly state their accounts or go into great detail, but surely there would be less doom and gloom if somebody told us what was being done to try and maintain our future not only in Super League but as a club.
Just a simple statement along the lines of 'We as a club are frustrated at the decision for the current stadium plans but please bear with us. We have a fall back plan, unfortunately we are not in a position to release details until after our shareholders meeting.'
Instead some vague line now and again followed by the standard 'Together we are stronger'
