Quote: The Avenger "What’s been said about Carter that you know not to be true?'"

I saw something a few days ago that I won’t repost on here but let’s just say it was swiftly removed and a good job it was too.

The bloke states he is only wanting justified constructive criticism , OK fair enough I could go with that. However I would also like to hear some truthful apologies from Carter. I would like to hear him being honest and accept he has made numerous bad recruitment calls that has lead to the state we are in. However , he will never admit that and all he says is that we don't have any money. When he mans up and accepts he is not qualified or skilled enough to be CEO/Rugby director, he will get far more respect I would imagine

I've seen us lose 12 on the bounce before, bit this feels different, even during that Harbin run in 2001 there was still hope, and it culminated in that crazy day in Salford. I have none now.

Complete and utter incompetence at every level within the club from the board to the players.

All we have left is a bunch of muppets with bloated egos and a distinct lack of talent or recognition of the situation the club is in

Totally agree on all of this.

I do feel resigned now that we are gone.

A real sad time for this once great club.

Carter has always said he makes decisions on behalf of the club, which is in theor best interests.

He now needs to make two more, both for the benefit, one to wake up and smell the coffee regarding Mash, and another, which is also for a bit of self preservation

Carter has one last role of the dice to save his own legacy at the club. He can either be remembered as the owner who saved the club a decade ago or as the one who's actions got the club relegated now

I came away tonight thinking there was no shortage of effort from any player. The quality just isn’t there.

I have been trying so hard to be positive but as that game finished I think we should possibly consider building early for a strong championship squad.

We have a few assets that some teams would be interested in. Whitbread was immense today, that guy is head and shoulders the best forward on the park.

I hate to say it but should we put Whitbread and Tanginoa on the open market and see if we can get fees for the both of them and save on wages with a view to throwing it into staying full time and building a strong championship squad for 2024. You might be talking 150k and that would get 4 x good full time players in the championship full time.

Maybe it’s defeatist but i feel really low after tonight.

Don’t think we’ll get anywhere near that much for them as they will be available for free in a few short months but we might get something. But the premise is correct, invest anything we can get and start the championship planning early. The later we leave it the harder it becomes. And if we end up going part time, and by all accounts last night it was said it is possible, its a long way back.

I couldn’t agree more. There’s a need for a complete overhaul for the Championship with a Rugby Director and a new coach with proven ability…..

The clubs would get them now and they would get the luxury of not having to nagotiate salary competing with other clubs. After all both Whitbread and Tanginoa would t be available unless we get relegated in September.

50k each is t a stretch. I’d put a tag on invite offers and accept highest. Teams like Warrington would likely jump in. Add to that £100k + 4 month wages I imagine would be 40-50k for both its £150k.

Club need to decide what it wants to do. Be a big fish in the championship and prepare early or fight to the death and maybe survive but be in a scenario where we have a limited player pool to recruit from post season.

Sell playing assets but retain and sign 2024 contracts for those we want to take into 2024 (Eseh, Bowes, Pratt etc.

It feels awful writing this tbh but being a big fish in the championship next season and using it as a reset season might. It be a bad idea. Banging on the door as a cat B club winning the championship wouldn’t be a bad position. Would be good to build a winning culture too.

If there’s a projected 600k increase from new facilities then that’s a good wedge towards a full time team for championship a lot of clubs wouldn’t have access to.

We would have to just not have any inflated full time contracts (no 50k +).

Also play young lads who we would want to retain next season like Law, Pratt, Windrow etc and give them some SL experience ready to take into championship 2024.

I think the club will be disappointed if it thinks it will suddenly have that 500-600K rolling in next season, it will be a gradual increase. I expect that long term the ground can generate that kind of money but it won't happen straight away, like any other business it will take time to build up clients and build a reputation as somewhere to go. Companies and people already have there 'go to' places for events who will offer incentives to stay with them and to get them to change will take time and may well likely involve throwing a few discounts around in the first instance. Obviously that will effect the revenue gain in the short term but should allow for long term gain. It will hit next year though. Also the repayment part of the loan rather than just the interest payments kick in once it is operational so some of the funds will head that way and we will also all of a sudden have a CEO to pay for and decent ones don't come cheap. Tv money will all but disappear, sponsorship value will decrease and crowds (along with ticket prices) and food/wet sales will reduce. It will be a fair task to build a top end championship team next year thats for sure.

I think fan base is at an all time low. Winning imho will see it rise not fall. People are fed up of seeing us lose. I don’t think it will be easy but I do think we can be the strongest team in the championship if we are smart about it.
