I think if they were in discussions they might just consider it something worth knowing or do we just wait until the end of the season and then talk to players out of contract in the hope we can get them cheaper because nobody else wants them. It would be an interesting if poor negotiation tactic but for us more than likely.

I hope phe13 can explain why he/she thinks that by stating we don’t know their plans indicates anything but no contract talks because it’s quite vital to avoid wasting their time. Then why would any club not hold negotiations unless either they have no interest in retaining the players or are waiting in the hope of having a stronger hand.

"We don't know what their plans are" (what the player is thinking/has decided), does not equate to "there are no contract talks."

Until the player (agent), officially informs the club of any decision, it's ongoing.
