But you are correct Snowie, he has the raw talent and the attributes that can be moulded to make him a star.
I think every club in SL would be interested should he become available'"
But yet you never fail to notice them, maybe it's because his rugby knowledge is far greater than yours, I would imagine there's nowt worse than trying to converse with those on a higher level than you.
Hold on a minute wolvey, it's only a few posts ago you were waxing lyrical about him, how he would massively improve the best back line in the Northern Hemisphere, now you've down graded him him having raw talent and the attributes to mould him into being a star, one thing I do know about vasty, and that's he doesn't suffer fools, it's not difficult to see where his problem lies trying to communicate with you

| A bit off topic but didn't want to start a new topic, what's the deal with Reece Lyne, is he under contract. He was in a local park with Jamie Shaul yesterday and I heard he say he had signed for Rovers, I don't here if it was this season or when his deal runs out though.

He's not OOC so my guess is you misunderstood and that it's Shaul who's signed for HKR. Lyne is due a testimonial end of this year also, be a strange time to go.

It was definitely Lyne who said he signed for Rovers. It's not as if I could get the two players mixed up.
Maybe Wakefield want him off the cap?

Well there is another obvious explanation I suppose. If we are relegated, and it may still happen, then he is a free agent. I'm sure most of them have a bolt hole arranged should that happen. HKR would work out well for the lad in such a scenario.
PS: Players say all sorts of things when there are nosey fans around, so you may have been pranked

Especially if the fan was wearing Trinity merchandise ha.
He has a long contract with trinity and he’s been an excellent servant to the club but I have been disappointed with Reece this season overall. I think he’s bulked up too much, losing his athleticism somewhat and stopped playing as direct. I wouldn’t be overly upset if he did leave. Wouldn’t bash him though, he’s been overall excellent for us. Maybe a move to second row is an option for him.

The fan in the park was a Hull fan (up a tree with binoculars )
(I wonder if it was East Park, with the fantastic sculpture tribute to Mick Ronson)

| I'll get straight to the point, if I had Beaumont's money, I would snap up Murphy and Eseh straight away for Leigh because, they are our future English talented players.

Wakefields academy has become a hotbed for developing promising young athletes for league one, championship and superleague recent years. Eseh and Murphy look the business but it is still early days for them both. Eseh for a prop is still very young at 18 but I think will be interesting to see how he goes in SL next year.

Mate I don’t want to dampen your fire but there is so much wrong with that statement.
1: Wakefield are nowhere near so tight that they can’t afford to fight off Leigh or most other clubs to offer these two their first real SL deal.
2: We’ve been here before with Mr Beaumont. He’s not that rich for a start. But more importantly He has gambled everything on returning to SL before the drawbridge is raised. I don’t blame him but Leigh will enter SL in a terrible financial state. It wouldn’t surprise me if Leigh’s current squad breaks the SL cap.
Remember those players who got you promoted will all was full time deals, whilst you’ll have to shed two Aussies.
Trinity know they have some talent and this season and next will be the one where we transition that. We will lose some but do you really think we will let go of what we have worked so hard to create. No offence but especially not to fellow bottom feeders like ourselves.
I honestly don’t get Leigh fans and I’m not suggesting you are one of these. But every time you get promoted you seem to believe you will be up there with the elite and every time you crash and burn, learn for heavens sake.
It took us four year before we climbed off the bottom after promotion. It took Hudds even longer and they had serious money, ditto Salford and HKR. These are the clubs that finally established themselves. The others lasted a season.
If Leigh are to survive in SL you need to forget about money and big signings. You need to put together a tough no nonsense team that will battle for wins and hope you get the points. Magic signings won’t do it, whilst two wet behind the ears kids certainly won’t.
You’ll find the players you need in the championship or lurking on the fringes of genuinely big clubs like Wigan or Saints.
I agree that Murphy and Eseh may be the future but not at any other club than Trinity, where they can be developed.
Oddly you should look at. Leeds. They are possibly signing two players in Hooley and Ruan who would be ideal for a promoted club. Not too pricey, decent skills and a desire to prove themselves. There are loads of those about, we have a few of those.
Having said all that if we get relegated then it’s a free for all however I think we’d actually be owed a fee on those two. Then I don’t blame you, though tbh it wouldn’t be those two I’d be picking up from us.

| We have done so well over the last 8 years of keeping the players we want to ie Johnstone, Tanginoa, Fifita etc. Although there are lots of rumours regarding players leaving this year, the cycle of these players is coming to an end and a changing of the guard is what will happen, especially the younger players stepping up and adding players from else where. Given our current dilemma of not knowing if we are staying up and potentially finding it difficult to attract players to the club currently, or if and when we do seal our super league status, said players might of gone elsewhere. For me that means the likes of your Murphy’s, Eseh, Aydin etc are really important to keep hold for next year as they are more than likely to get some serious game time, Murphy is already a shoe in. I think we will be in the driving seat to retain these players as the past speaks volumes, we are simply not a selling club, no matter what position we find ourselves in

| I just watched the highlights of the Wigan game and I just wanted to make a comment about Murphy
We have luxuriated in the pace and balance of Tom Johnstone… when he breaks clear he has smooth acceleration and a classic style.. however … watching Murphy take a loose Wigan pass secure possession and then explode through the gears to reach top speed … I haven’t seen that sprinting power in years…
It brings a smile to my face every time I watch it… and it’s already been loads!!

It's a real buzz to the system when Murphy gets the ball with some space. I had hoped to see a Murphy v Field moment yesterday.
