Good news is we got a good back 7 with Hall and Murphy coming in .Bad news is we have got a very poor pack who are not strong enough or to old to clear there line ( once they made 8 yard in there own 25 in 3 tackles ) The only player that looks like he can make yards is Kelepi As said a lot of this is down to poor recrutment of British players over the last 3 year and in that time not bringing in players to strengthen the team .As in the starting 13 .and replacing players that are last there best

Quote: The Avenger "We need a big front rower and we need him quick!
Possibly 2 front rowers but I can’t see us getting 1 so 2 is a pipe dream

The club needs to get some transfer wheeling and dealing done, find some money then show ambition by getting a reputable front row forward who isn’t too much of a gamble.

We’ve got some really good players but like an arch without a keystone we’re structurally weak and 1 or 2 dominant front rowers are our keystone. Get them in place and the rest of the team will improve around them especially the half backs

Tanginoa is a second rower not a prop
Arona is a 13 not an 8 or 10
Battye is Championship standard
We need Fifita back fit'"

Battye was a good signing originally.

I saw him as the fourth or fifth prop. Four big men and then Battye who offered some variation.

I never for a moment envisaged him as a main example up the middle prop. In fairness to Battye he’s being overplayed doing a job he’s not up to.

Aydin and Shaw are both a few years off being really competitive and Whitebread fails to impress.

That leaves Fifita and Arona as our only options and Arona must be exhausted.

We need Fifita back ASAP and we need another prop. Not convinced he needs to be huge just good.

Loan signings look the most likely but I don’t think WP is a fan of those.

Mercenary though it is Tupes is now a big problem. A big wage and a quota spot and a position we are covered on a player I don’t think will ever come back. We need to do something there but I’ll be damned if I know what.

I absolutely know it’s not MC’s way but if we are to save this season and more importantly keep the fans on board he needs to find some cash from somewhere. We need some quality and that will only come from one place in the short term.

Utterly disappointing.
Poor execution, poor passing, poor tackling and our markers at the ptb may as well mot be there.
Sure we seemed to be on the end of some bad calls by the man in the middle but, we literally have no go forward.

Apart from a 10 minute spell in the second half, we were a distant second all game icon_biggrin.gifEPRESSED:

Our lack of decent props has been badly exposed, unfortunately, Whitbread isn't the answer.

It now appears that we are left battling for 10,11 or 12th spot, with Toulouse and Salford., Leeds will find a way out, with the help of their cheque book.

Although Warrington had been poor, its incredible to see how badly we've fallen back after those 2 wins

Even with the dumb penalties and poor calls we still looked a threat for that opening 20 minutes. Tom had at least three near misses over the line following kicks that Rovers were lucky to clear. We also had the two disallowed tries pulled back for dubious/marginal calls.

Having just watched the highlights I would be insulting children if I said we defended like school kids. Utter disgrace. Basics not even done which is inexcusable.

Now then, KR fan in peace.

I don’t think you guys were a million miles away to be fair, a couple chalked off on another day could have been given, a couple of wasted opportunities and actually some decent defence from us snuffed a lot out.

Your defence wasn’t very good though, no urgency or desire which can be expected sometimes the game after Easter. A couple have alluded to it though your forwards didn’t do enough and bench wasn’t great.

One thing not mentioned was the wind, very very difficult. Difference was we nilled you when you was into it and you conceded 4 tries, mainly but not dominating field position or having a kicking game to pin us back (bar a 10 min period)

Your 1-7 is decent which I think is what will keep you up, especially if you can add 1-2 bodies into your pack

I fear that even if we survive this season we have three of our most in demand players coming to the end of their contracts. I doubt based on our performances over the last three seasons that anyone would blame them for wanting to move on when they look at how other teams play. What makes matters worse is that the reason they may want to move is the same why any quality player would not want to sign.
The outcome may be delayed but our demise will arrive eventually therefore we need to change things by either looking at the loan market or spending some cash. The team needs a shake up because Fifita on his own is not the answer.

Quote: Wollo-Wollo-Wollo-Wayoo "I was surprised how many stayed to applaud the guys but I think that late track back by either Jowitt or Murphy to prevent what looked like another certain try needed appreciation. The whole team came to thank the fans and looked absolutely gutted and shattered.
I saw Daz from the shop having it out with that small group of drunken yobs on the way out. What a set of immature brain dead morons they are.

On to Shudds now.'"

Think the reason fans stayed back was that we did not play as bad as score line said .There was a post some that said Lino was to blame for 4 of the trys that is rubbish . May have missed a tackle for the first one. But the others were down to our defence not been there when LIno had slowed the man down with is tackle .At the end of the day they majority of the lack are not up to it

Yesterday’s defeat doesn’t worry me. Even if we were playing well a win would be a tall order.

My only concern is the amount of totally unforced errors and silly penalties we give away. I think the current bunch of refs are poor but I don’t think we’ve copped any worse than other teams.

It’s dead simple. Restart the season on Thursday. Forget Warrington and start as the underdogs we were on game one.

Scavenge a win on Thursday and we are running again.

Only the players can do this, not the coach, not the directors and not the fans.

Step up boys, show some pride and draw a line in the sand.

It’s not the losing, it’s been the nature of the 3 defeats over the Easter period, defence against Cas, Wigan and Hull KR were non existent.

I’ve been reading the comments, and especially regarding Lino, from what I saw yesterday, I’d be more concerned about the right edge as a whole, not individuals, we looked a liability there throughout the game.

I do wish we would vary our kick offs a little bit though, we waited until being 20 points down to try something, and we scored off the back of it.

On the positive side (and I can do positive contrary to what some think) I thought Pitts, Batch, Jordy and Kelepi put in a decent shift.

Sadly, Arona looked knackered after 10 minutes.

I’m tired of “it’s not the losing”. For me it is the losing, we should not accepting losing no matter what manner it is in, it’s this attitude that is holding us back.

Highlights generally will not show you anything other than the scores. Watch the full game on Trinity TV.
