Having watched the TV expose of Wcat it’s clear to me tha WMDC is a rotten borough. I know WMDC are not directly to blame for Wcat but it seems dodgy practice of every kind is the norm in this area. To me the rot starts at the top in Box and things won’t change until he is deposed!
We are now what Doncaster used to be, utterly corrupted. It’s not a party political issue either it’s just rubbish people.

If we call our new ground "the Trinity Gallery", we'll attract loads of art grants

| OT I know but why aren't Wakefield applying for this UK City of Culture award? With all our top class art gallerys and such we would make millions in tourism which could assist the funding of a community stadium. Bradford of all places have applied and they've about as much culture as Grimsby Docks.

Can we do that? I’d have thought we’d need an alternative venue. Not impossible but surely it would need to be in advance of the start of season.
These days you can build through all but the very worst weather in which case logically you’d build it in the 2020/21 closed season. That said I don’t know how long it would take to get up the main structure and seats which could possibly be used minus the other facilities that could come later. Might only take six weeks with good weather but I could be miles off.
I’d be delighted if you’re right but seems a bit impractical to me.

I might be wrong here but regarding the steel for the framework, I'm nearly sure that you have to order it and can take anything up to 6 month to make it depending I suppose on the quantity and the different measurements.

I don't know but perhaps because our stand might be relatively small the steel may be stock sizes? But yeah I'd have thought it would take a while to design, get planning, and sort the building.

And perhaps a while to sort the funding?!

I think we have to assume that's in place, I can't see the clubs present management making strong noises regarding a new stand without some substance to it.

| If anything is to happen then I'm sure MC will want to use the opportunity to generate some positive vibes around the club. As the first public move is to apply for planning permission I would expect the first announcement would be that we are ready to apply for PP as there are many on here who would spot it and steal his thunder within minutes.

| Seriously doubt YC will fund anything. They have made their position quite clear and have circumvented the planning conditions expertly so they are no longer legally obliged to stump up.

No, but we can still put a spike in their wheel should they want to develop further, has it gone to appeal yet.
Morally they won't give a toss but on pragmatic grounds, they may well stump up some cash, don't know how much to get us to shut up.
Its all wrong because they should pay for the lot and in a perfect world neither WMDC or the club should have backed down, Sadly this is the real world and the clock is ticking on us, we can't fob people off forever. The club has no choice but to take what's on offer, the alternative is to go under IMHO opinion and thats not worth it om a principle.
As I say if they are contributing I don't know how much or in what form. What I do know is that if the club are funding the bulk then every little counts. If YC were to stump up say 15% and WMDC or the FA or whoever coughs up a similar amount thats 30% paid for in advance meaning any loans required would hopefully attract better rates and more support from the banks.
I know I'm being optimistic and its pure speculation but I can't see MC & co not getting something from those who owe us but maybe they haven't who knows.
Fingers crossed, a new stand is way short of what we are owed but it will get us off the mark at last and considering the last major development at BV was in the 1950's I believe (old south stand) it's well overdue.
Finally, let's be honest, a million pounds from YC would be good value to them to get us out of the picture, they may do it because its good business and NOT out of any sense of decency.

I don't think they appealed. Box got rid of the decenting councillors on the planning committee and they approved a new application. If it hadn't been already with Newcold, a precedent has well and truly been set now.
