It was your G that pointed it out on Twitter.

| Quote: Trojan Horse "The wire player looked to go low and get bumped off may have copped a knee but it didn’t look like Pauli was doing anything other than driving it in. I get the need for it but I was a bit puzzled at the game. Not seen a penalty in super league myself for that before in all our years. It’s a bit like the downtown penalty. We got penalised last year for downtown despite no interference in play. The week after on Sky exactly the same and the player downtown got involved in play to eventually score (think was cas or Leeds) but it wasn’t penalised like it rarely is. This isn’t a moan atvrefs or some conspiracy btw . I just find it strange or unlucky.
One thing that worries me is maybe how the officials perceive Wakefield team this season. We have been pinged and destroyed by officials against Wigan and Warrington around the ruck with penalties. That needs to stop.
The one thing I didn’t like at Wire was we made a number of breaks but a number of times ref held up play and wakey lost momentum. A wire player got bumped off Pauli and we got on front foot with an offload and the ref stopped play and ran to the wire player who was having a nice stretch and then run back to the defensive line that was then set. Think this needs to be looked at in more detail around how and when play is stopped.'"
Tbf, I thought he looked in a bit of trouble the way he was laid, his demeanor on the ground, I'd have probably stopped it.
Turns out there was FA wrong with him, but Child wasn't to know that, or anybody else for that matter.
A quid say's that'll be the new slow down at pob this season, go down like a sack of spuds and don't move, its risky, you might get taken off for your brains inspecting but if you are due a sub anyway it won't matter.
There were quite a few half tackles that Child deemed tackle complete, you could tell that wasn't the players understanding of a completed tackle by their confusion.
I'm not down on Child, its just you don't know where the hell you are with him half the time, I mean, there were loads of wtf decisions for both sides, does that even it up?.....I dunno......I'd rather not be wondering if I'm honest, Pauli had at least a couple of harsh decisions against him which turned the ball over, so I suppose it depends what the circumstances are, a penalty for that attacking side is one thing but cheap turnover is irritating as hell especially if its clearly a Childizm.

| Got to sort the defence out or we’re in for a torrid time in the next few weeks. Particularly the right edge where Finn was at fault for biting in on Kirmond’s man leaving Lyne and BJB no option but to come in and leaving Lynham with a run to the line but Grix needed to do better also.
Second one was more Kirmonds fault as he comes in and sits back on his heels making him late to move out and forcing Finn to bite on the lead runner, the effect ripples out through Lyne and BJB again giving Lynham another free run at the line.
Similar issues with Goodwins try early in the 2nd half
It’s a feature of our early season defensive performances and better teams will exploit it more, particularly Sts who are tearing teams apart in that exact area.
I’m not even going to start on BMMs try, I’ve watched Under 10s deal with and defend big lads better than that.

| Penalties are given for raising the knee in the drive quite often and usually carry a ban as well.

Top six 2005 - Trinity.: |

| I’ve not seen any in the televised SL games or trin games for years. I didn’t take it as a penalty that’s given often?

| I'm not worried about they way we're playing, all the winning elements are there its just a question of tying them all together.
We looked a bit clunky at times in general play, intensity, people not in position to receive from ahb, ad-hock last plays and kick pressure.
We also looked a bit off in the forwards, dunno why Arona was resting, mebbe he's not 100% but still had to fill for Fifita.
Defensively we were ok besides the busts, they are not part of our game, certainly not last season and not up to now this season.
Still, they kept going right to the end, over all I thought we were the better team, away from home against a Wire team flooded with quality players, but those lapses cost us, the Godzilla and all 3 of Linehams were very preventable fups
You know when you've been to a game and been beat by a clearly superior side, well Wire away this year was not one of those games.
All the cogs are in the box they're just not quite meshing together as yet.
Props to Wire, they defended well in the 2nd half and speculated enough points to win.

One was give the other week on sky and I watched Hudds VS Wire a few week back and Joe Philbin was penalised for raising the knee in tackle, i realize its not the most common penalty given but it was in response to someone stating they had never seen a penalty given for it. If you look on RFL Disc, you will see quite a few bans over the past few years for it.
In fact, there was a player not long back that was given a warning for his running style after a few bans for raising his knee in the tackle, forget who it was now.

| I know that a game is not won or lost in the first few minutes, but if the pass from Miller to Tupou had been allowed , it would have put a different complexion on the game, although picked up by the touch judge its a shame the opposite judge did`nt see the the forward pass that put Lineham in for his second try. When the pass from Ratchford was thrown out he was about a metre over the 10 metre line & when the winger caught it he must have been 2 metres further forward. Funny how officials view the same game !!
