| To be honest the more Bradford kick up a stink about this whole saga the better. There is a murky undercurrent to this mess and I believe the RFL are as culpable as the Bradford club. Had this been football the press would’ve been all over it and the corruption/incompetence at the RFL would have been outed by some good old investigative journalism.
All Trinity have to do is keep at least 8 points in front of the Bulls. That’s the key. Anything other is out of their control.

| Plus it’s a shot to nothing, if they win they will have the SL money to pay off the legal costs and if they lose Green could just ditch the club leaving it in administration again to avoid paying the subsequent bills.

I'm guessing you are refering to the clubs signing away their rights to take legal action against the RFL?
Is there actually any substance to this or has it just become an urban myth?

| We should be trying to hide in the group about with Hull and Hull KR. Let the relegation talk about others and forget our name.
Might not be 8th but that mid table obscurity looks appealing to me.

| Marc Green is doing this in order to keep his options open.
In my working days the company I worked for was involved in a number of High Court actions against us, all of which we won by the way. My experience is that you don't just walk into the High Court when you feel like it, the whole process can take quite a while and it could me many months before a date is set to consider the case.
Bradford, however may be seeking a "Summary Judgement" which in simple terms is a quick hearing to determine if the RFL had the power to deduct points or not. If the case is so clear cut then the Judge can rule that the RFL had no power to make the deduction or did not follow procedures. If that were to be the case then I would have thought the RFL could follow procedures (if it has not done so) and impose another 6 point deduction.
Alternatively the Courts could rule that Bradford's case is not clear cut and set a date for a full hearing which could be 6 to 9 months away. How's that going to fit in with setting 2015 fixtures.
All Marc Green is doing in my opinion is keeping the option open of a High Court action. As weeks go by he will review his position and if the situation is such that 6 points back will make no difference to them he will simply withdraw the action. If at the end of the season the points deduction have made a difference he will pursue the case.
It's simple if we win a few more games it all becomes irrelevant.

I think this will be the feeling of a lot of the RL community. Marc green is going to turn everyone against the club.

| in my opinion, The Bulls are no longer chasing the six points back. What they're doing now is trying to manufacture a situation whereby its impossible for the RFL to relegate them. They are trying to manipulate the decision for the SL to reduce to 12 clubs into a decision for it to reduce to 13 clubs with another club relegated next year taking us to the 12 club SL the Chairmen want.
That in turn will push the 12 & three 8s format back another year, thereby curtailing the ambitions of the Championship clubs for that extra year.
Nothing else about this decision would make any sense to me.

| And what on earth happens to the next club that goes into admin if Bulls are given points back eventually?
Also does the whole world of pro. rugby league go on 'standby' as this drags on and on?
Boot 'em out.

The arrogance of the Bulls is such that they think the game can't survive without them.
I agree boot them out or send the to the bottom of the pile.
The Scots had no problem doing this to Rangers and they are massive in comparison.

It's just bravado from Green who knows the Bulls won't get within 6 points of us or another team. He'll wait 4-6 weeks by which the league will confirm Bradford's relegation and also that they can't get within the 6 deducted points. Then Green will discontinue the case but in doing so has sent a message to the RFL that he isn't afraid to take them on.

You've missed Salford out there, everyone seems to ignore the fact that Salford are in the dogfight.

| As someone from the outside looking in my thoughts are that the Bulls have every right to seek action in the high court if correct procedures have not been followed. It may not suit the rest of us but they have rights under law.
In previous seasons where points have been deducted there has been no relegation so the worst that could happen is you miss out on the top eight. Do you really think other clubs would have just meekly accepted points deductions if there was a chance they may get relegated, I don't.
The other issue here is the Sky money, the rest of Super League was happy to take the Bulls cut and effectively put them points in arrears even before the season started. So before the points deduction they were not on a level playing field to every other team, remember it was the Bulls previous (discredited) board that accepted that scenario, not the new board and owners.
The easiest way out for everybody is to put back the structural changes by one season. A lot of people were against the changes anyway and it was pretty much forced through by the RFL, and only by some clubs refusing to vote (the reasons for that are very murky and have never been disclosed).
The whole thing is a mess and I put a massive part of that blame at the RFL's door. Everyone says they are not fit to run the game, especially some club owners so why is everyone quick to defend them.

My thoughts exactly Avenger. It wouldn't surprise me for the authorities to turn round and delay the new structure for a year. Who does this Green think he his? He inherits a debt free club that pays cut price rent then on top of that expects to dismiss the 6 points punishment, if it wasn't for the administration he wouldn't have a debt free club. Has he even raised the playing budget to pre administration levels? Surely that's the first thing he should of done to try and have it settled on the field. Why did he not make any attempt to pay any creditors off (except himself of course)? He could of had some points back by doing that. The guy wants to have his cake and eat it. Fortunately it's looking more likely as the games tick down the Bull players haven't got the stomach for the fight. I'll be surprised if they are anyway near 6 points of the rest. Hopefully the RFL will grow a pair and stand there ground and Bradford will vanishing into the oblivion....Good Riddance!
