| Quote: charlie63wildcat ""We lost a game get over it". If only that was just it. Error strewn performances, dumb Rugby, poor interchanges, poor selections, favourite players who are shoe ins whilst others who seem better get no chance, on Sunday a gutless effort by some players who looked unmotivated. This is not about one match. I am negative yes. I am furious after what I saw v HKR and Bradford. First half v Salford little better. Fell apart v St Helens..It is all familiar and follows a depressing pattern. We have put a decnt full 80 minutes in about 5 times whilst he has been in charge. But lets give him 3 years and see what he can do
Great post Charlie! I agree 100%

| Can I just clarify......why would the players be confused because he changed the team?
Both Sammut and Sykes have played the positions they were allocated.
Not one player finished without a missed tackle. I reckon they knew what to do there.
As I've said, Agar has to take some responsibility as made the changes but nothing he changed meant the players should perform so badly.

but both positions and in the same game? just my opinion and none of us knows for sure - maybe ,just maybe the players wondered why he made the monumental selection and tactical errors he did . maybe, just maybe they wondered why washbrook walked back into the squad. like I said if he wanted to experiment next week was the time-not in an important league game-even he has admitted he made a mistake, then blamed the players in public. what about my other points e.g. his poor judgement of a player- that worries me more than anything

I wasn't ignoring your other points, they've been well discussed and we have wildly ranging opinions on the board already.
Personally I think he is a very good judge of a player......when he beings them in. I've been impressed with all his recent signings.
Young players I realise is an emotive subject.
I would have persevered with Wildie and I hope he intends brining him back but Walshaw hasn't shown anything major for me so a loan spell not a bad thing.
The both positions in the same game has been done before to great effect.
Taylor and Sterling were a particular success at Paramatta and I think Sammut has done it himself at Bradford.
All I'm saying is those decisions alone shouldn't have made that much difference.
Dropping Mathers had an effect and I wouldn't have dropped Smith but it's a long season and maybe he was rested rather than dropped.
Watching the tries back on Sky, the players looked knackered.
I'd like to hear what the players thought the problem was.
I do agree that it needs sorting quickly. That performance wasn't good enough, no matter who you blame.

To be honest I'm as disappointed in the players as I am Agar.....if every one of the players had given even 75% of the effort that Snowie and his team have given over the last month or so we would have won 44-6.....
To me, a few of the changes made sense pre-game.....I could see where they were coming from.....he can do no more than admit to getting it wrong, and question what went wrong in terms of build up to the game....effort from players in the game etc.....
How to judge now is to see how we react in the coming weeks.....
We put in a shocker against Bradford.....we then went to Wigan....probably a game we were never going to win but the next 3 saw 2 wins and a good performance against the best team in the comp.....
We now need to regroup and right the wrongs.....
I dont think there is anything unusual in a bottom 4 side (which we are) throwing in a dire performance every now and again.....it happens....it has done twice already now and probably will do again.....if it starts happening every week that is the time I will really start to worry.....
Probably easier for me to have that outlook having not been able to travel over to HKR.....but as someone who has given his last two Saturday's up away from family (in tough times aswell).....I'm prepared to stick by and support all at the club at present....'"
agree completely. feel sorry for my boss mr brown. we have been at the ground for the last 2 weeks , ripped out all the foundations on one stand and renewed them. barrowed all the muck out and all the concrete in. set all the bolts. hard enough for us to do but he is the guy that paid us and as a wakey fan I thought after the game yesterday mr b will be gutted. so many people putting so much effort in to be let down so badly by the team you have paid your hard earned to support. no effort , no aggression. our pack got absolutely walked over. they were a joke.
defence was absolutely abysmal. the whole thing was a disgrace. if I had my way and if we do the bases on the north stand, I would send that 17 to do all the barrowing and labouring, show them how the other half live and what others are doing on their behalf.
the only 2 that I would leave out would be reece lyne. taulima tautai

I now read that you believe Agar selected Keinhorst because he knew he would only last 20mins leaving us a player short. I begin to wonder if we do have the most negative supporters of any team or just a higher percentage who post on the forum.
I guess our next coach should be Mystic Meg so that we will be in a position to predict what's going to happen so that we can pick the squad accordingly.'"
Go to the games hard working people paid plenty to watch that tripe Sunday.

i was using ellis as an example of ,in my opinion, his poor judgement . perhaps he is only willing to give players he brought in a fair crack - again to use the worst example washbrook.
his two and a bit years in charge have been mainly AWFUL , apart from the 7 game run - which again,in my opinion , was not down to him but him having to play players he didn`t rate due to injuries.
i am not absolving the players on sunday of any blame , all i want as a fan is maximum effort and it wasn`t there.
again ,dropping players for an important league game for an experiment is just plain STUPID and i think anyone would find it hard to convince most fans otherwise.

| Why do you assume I didn't go to the game and spend my hard earned money. The fact over the many years I have watched Wakefield I have seen much worse performances. I guess I am more pragmatic than some on here but you should never mistake this for a desire not to see Wakefield win every game.
The arguments about Agar's success being based on 7 games could equally apply to the period Kear was in charge, the run we had when Harbin coached the team. I know we were bad on Sunday but do you think the amount of bile on display is because we expect more from the team we have. I remember many poor games during the Kear era when the total game plan was 5 barges and a kick. The problem then was that we knew that it would be the same game plan the following week until Solomona came along.

even if i accept that statement - as i said with agar it happened by accident! don`t forget it was a few more than 7 games when we finished 5th under kear. if agar turns it round i will be the first to come on here and admit i was wrong - but i don`t think i`ll have to . unfortunately with agar in charge i can`t be optimistic about the remainder of the season and believe me i hope i`m wrong.

Rubbish. Agar changed a team playing well. We are very equal to Hull Kr if not better we were 44.0 down you plum.Agar finished 11th last year with a excellent team. I'm not judging him on 7 games I've judged him for 3 years now. First season excellent 2nd poor 3rd poor so far errors the same.

Ah that old chestnut of Kears only tactic was 5 drives and a kick. The comment of the clueless man. The only time these tactics were employed on anything approaching a regular basis was his last season in 2011 when the team he had was, quite frankly, dire and the players didn't have the capability to play any other way. Yet that team still didn't get the wooden spoon. Most seasons we played good stuff, especially 08 & 09 when Brough was pulling the strings.
Agar deserves more time yet but his mask is slipping and he needs now to start making improvements and getting results.

All at the expense of anything and everything that didn't concern 1st team matters, in particular the youth set up which is still trying to recover from the John Kear years!
He did the job in 2006 but after that his tenure as head coach was all fur coat and no knickers

The youth set up is a different argument and whilst you may well have a valid point Agars team choices are no better in that regard.

| Can't quite make my mind up on this one, because in one sense it is contradictory.
The disappointment about Sunday was because we had played so well in the previous three games. So we are playing well this year. The disappointment about Bradford was because our team had looked promising against Salford.
So out of the games so far, we had played well and lost against two sides thought to be better than ours (one of which is still unbeaten), and had played well and won against two poor sides (one of which has now shown itself to be a decent side).
So on the season as a whole, our form has been good. The frustration is that of the two games when we have been rubbish, Bradford and Hull KR, they have been games that are crucial to our survival.

| The youth set up is THE most vital area of the club, especially our club because we don't have the money to buy in top class players. As a sport we can't compete with RUs money and we can't lure the best or even second best Players from down under anymore. The only way forward is to grow your own and in that regard Agar is light years beyond Kear who simply wasn't interested in anything below the SL team. As a result the whole structure of youth development was destroyed and but for Tony Drury and his GF Winning Academy the club was a laughing stock. Agars been nothing but supportive of the structures below his first team and is a big advocate of creating a pathway through for the young ones.
Be careful what you wish for is all I'm saying!
