| so there's no confusion the ground capacity can only go up when the work is done on the east and west stands it won't hit full capacity,
this coming week is where it will all starts more barriers will be set in east stand and the weekend will see the start of 66 bkts to be welded to every leg in the west stand, believe me this is going to one hell of a job and I will be in touch with all who left their numbers that can help out.
we have another lad willing to give up his time who is a coded welder and has his own genny too so the time scale should be halved, but bless him he will be watching his club next weekend in france but will be available after then. drilling and setting them shouldn't be a problem as he's quicker on his part we then have to wait for me before they are painted
retest and get the council to give the go ahead we should see it go up.
having met both gentlemen from the council on Thursday I gave them all the reasons why we will see the job through correctly, explaining how lucky that the club has got the right qualified professionals of their own trade
I believe I have convinced them but time will tell

| snowie mate they are very interesting photos. is that the type of test that they actually put on the barriers to pass or fail them? if so why only wakey, i'm sure most of the barriers at old sports stadia would fail also.

just looking at the serious kit on show there its hard to imagine how rugby league spectators could exert the same amount of pressure on the barriers but if thats what the man says then its what we have to do i suppose. i just wonder if these jobsworths realise the implications for the club. do they show any compassion when they tell you their decision.

| Probably been mentioned further back but I've not read all the pages. Will the modifications be done for Good Friday? Be pants if not.

| As I understand it.
It's not the folk leaning against the barrier that is the issue. The whole area behind the barrier is given a spectator limit given the barriers ability to cope with a surge. If the concrete shows signs of cracking at half pressure it means that the capacity for spectators in that vicinity is reduced by half. Thus the whole capacity of the stadium is reduced by half as this is replicated for each barrier. The thing I find odd is the only surge I've ever seen at BV is for the exits on the back of a bad loss. Maybe we need to reinforce these exits.

the tests on the bracketed barriers gave a flex return of 200th of a mill so just about returned to its station, so all credit goes to team Trev our fixer who is making sure the bolting is done correctly,
don't just think that its rugby league grounds that get this kind of scrutiny as it adapted to all kinds of safety protection, there is not a ruling for one sport and a ruling for another hence the high standard.
as for compassion the engineers understand our plight but what it is, is what it is and we can only do what is required or more, as he has said its not the barriers that's the problem its the way they have been fixed that has let them down
