This is a great offer and I'm glad that the club are coming up with ideas like this to boost attendances and get some money in the bank...

BUT

The marketing for this one feels a bit thrown together and as a result, is a bit ambiguous; for example, I wasn't aware after reading my letter that the £100 offer was contingent on 2500 members and that my £100 would be refunded if we didn't reach the target.

I'd buy a ST at £175 or £100, so I'm probably not the target audience, but if the letter was unclear to me, I can't imagine it making much sense to the casual fan who might be enticed back if the offer was right.

Shame really - hopefully either I'm completely wrong, or there'll be some corrective action in the form of marketing the offer with clearer information.

Apologies to those who do clearly understand this, and to those who have already said what I am about to say.

The confusion seems to arise from the fact that this season we have a membership scheme of Gold/Silver/Bronze. However, at this point, the only form of membership anybody needs to be concerned with from now until the end of September is the one the club have on offer right now. The simple fact is membership = season ticket. There is no additional price for a "membership", there is no additional task you need to do to become a member other than that detailed as follows, the membership is the season ticket.

To get your membership (= season ticket) do the following:

1. Fill out a form for a season ticket (= membership) which at present you can get from the club shop, before the end of September at the advertised price of:

£100 adult
£80 concession
£20 child

2. Tell every Tom, Dick, Ryan McGoldrick and Harry to do the same.

3. Come the end of September if the club has received 2,500 (two thousand, five hundred) people all having completed said form you will get your season ticket (= membership) at the price of £100.

At the end of September, if the club does not have 2,500 completed forms, they will give you a call, and will offer you the following:

A. Your money back
B. the option to pay an extra £75 and still get the season ticket (= membership) at the frozen price of this years which is £175.


The suspicion amongst Wakefield fans is like nothing I have ever seen anywhere else. For obvious and totally understandable reasons that have gone before we automatically jump to the negative as has been proven on this thread. We try to look for ulterior motives or hidden agendas, but in this case it's one hell of an offer!! I agree to an extent that the club should have been clearer in its explanation of this, and something as simple as what I have put above, would help clarify it for the more casual follower, but on the face of it, IMO this is as good a deal as you will get coming out of Wakefield Trinity.

Free MOT if you need one on Gold also £10 off a shirt (new one for next season) if signed up before the end of this month and £5 for the end of Sept makes the offer really good providing you need an MOT and also like to buy a shirt.

There's one simple way of ensuring we get a ST for £100 and that's by signing up and spreading the word!
