If that happens then it is a bigger joke than us being relegated over Quins and Crusaders. Halifax don't even have a proper academy.

This is what pees me off about the RFL. I don't recall originally there being anything about more than one championship club coming up, it was always a one up one down scenario and then they move the goal posts. with all due respect to Halifax, other than the stadium what could they possibly bring to SL over us. Their junior development will be nowhere near ours for starters.
Crusaders should be the ones to go simple as.

He's been the passenger in a car that was involved in a police chase and a collision with a wall. He's also done lots of community (some involuntary admittedly at the request of her maj but lots volunteraly) work and raised plenty of money for various charites, donated items for auctions raffles etc. The bad stuff always gets publicised, yes he's not been the brightest spark but he is genuinely a decent bloke. I know some of you may find this hard to grasp but its wrong to cast aspursions on someone who you don't personally know. As for his playing abilities I'd welcome them at this moment in time, however I'd have it written in to any contract that any misdemeanours at all and you're gone.'"
On his past record it would be a pointless exercise then.

| I try not to take any notice of rumour, hearsay and conspiracy theories cos as a Wakey fan it usually ends in heartache,as we all know too well, but this time it is different.
At the start of the season I like 99.9% of us had resigned myself to the fact that a new licence was well beyond us but then came the takeover and AG.This renewed a little hope and after the CC meeting and the proposals for BV I thought we were again in with a chance cos it would put us back fighting with Cas(except for admin)which we have been told does not count after Crusaders went belly up but after this week all that has changed AGAIN.
We are playing possibly the worst rugby, both attacking and defensively that we have ever played since entering SL,the players are not interested and the club has stopped communicating, apart from making crap signings(Tadulala).
This does make me think we have been told the outcome and that the fat lady is well and truly blasting out a song and Cas have also been told.
We have been linked with no players for next season but yet Cas are signing their players to 3 year deals and if they weren't certain to stay in SL surely players would wait 3 weeks to find out the outcome.Add to this that several top coaches(well Noble anyway)have been linked and it looks like the decision has already been made.
No members of the press or the RL community give us a hope in hell and it is just a formality on the 26th and it STINKS.

I'm sorry but that's the daftest rumour ever, hardly worse the effort. The Quins bit is highly unlikely. The Fax bit is utterly ludicrous IMO and has plainly been made up by folk with nothing better to do.
Even the most ardent Fax fan would take it with a pinch of salt. Fax are nowhere near ready for SL - I doubt they beat us on any criteria, in fact I suspect they fail most. My mates a Fax fan, he says they have very little community work, no real Academy set up and a badly eroded supporter base - they are just an average Championship side. You might as well chuck in Leigh or Fev as there is no difference.
Let's be serious, it's between us and Cas or will require an increase of SL to 15 teams - or will require Quins or Crusaders to go t*ts up - they are the only options, Fax don't even inter into it IMO.

| as a fax fan, i would be very surprised if we get a super league place, but i also say we are alot closer than vastman thinks, for me you cannot compare our u23's setup with a super league club, at the moment our stadium is far better than cas's or wakey's, we are more than just an average championship club, (just look at our record over the last couple of years) Champ runners-up 2009, champ winners 2010, NRC finalist 2011)
our crowds have stagnated for me becuase nobody expect us to go up and floating fans can't ever see us in super league again. if wakey do come down, your crowds will fall without a doubt. if we go up our crowds will def increase, i believe as a club if fax were in super league, we would bring just/compete as much as yourself/cas/crusaders/quins/bradford and Salford.
I work in wakefield and have a few wakey fans. for me i really do hope you get to stay in super league

It's not a case of how close you are, you simply can't be as close as either ourselves or Cas. The award of a SL spot went as agreed to the best application from the Championship - that just means they are the best team available it doesn't make them better than the existing team as far as I can see - as it happens they are IMO Widnes are the only Championship team able to meet SL requirements. There is no provision for a second promoted club especially one that doesn't meet all criteria or match any of the existing teams. Go for Fax and the SL gains nothing by their own criteria where as with Widnes they get the all important Stadium with all those empty seats - I just can't think of a scenario in which they would do that even if Crusaders went bust and that extra spot became available.
If it were up to me I'd have Fax up in a shot and I believe they would eventually do OK and dump London or better still Crusaders. Sadly I'm just a fan of 25 years and my opinion counts for little.

| Have also heard the Quins rumour though I doubt the RFL would want them to go to the lower division. Still think we are favourites for the chop though not on merit but because we are situated around so many SL cubs. Would think, though not agree, if London did take a step down then Halifax would come up!

| Latest rumour:
RFL will move the goalposts YET AGAIN though in the long term it might benefit WTW.
The SL will remain at 14 teams with the unlucky club being Wakefield
There will be a silver lining in the form of a 12 month review of the stadium situations for Castleford and Wakefield.
At the 12 month review If Wakefield have gained planning permission and begun building while Castleford have still not secured FULL funding and also begun construction then The Wildcats will return to the SL and The Tigers will lose their franchise.
If both clubs have begun construction the SL will increase to 15 in 2013, this solution works for the RFL because it appease the Championship clubs who are denied promotion, it allows the RFL to back up their statements that one team will be relegated and that the SL will remain at 14 teams, even though that might just be during 2012.
I have it on good authority that Wakeield have accepted these terms as they are confident of attaining planning permission and commencing construction. The Wildcats will also receive a parachute payment and a 25% increase in the salary cap meaning their year in the Campionship will do limited damage to the infrastructure of the club. AG and JE believe they can sell this compromise to the fans as a consolidation and rebuilding phase for the club.

I don't agree that once out we will never get back in RL is not strong enough to do that. I have confidence in NM getting the go-ahead and also have confidence in AG getting this club moving in the right direction. RFL want a strong Wakefield and WTRLFC playing out of NM with a solid business plan is a too good opportunity to miss. Right now if the conditions of us going down as above are correct I would be confident we'd be back in 2013 bigger more positive and stronger

I would also be happy with it, but given the RFL's history of moving the goal posts, I would want a watertight agreement in place and even include details of the agreement when making the franchise announcement.
