Quote: Neggy "I would have thought and hoped that any suspension would also carry at least a partial loss of wages.'"
You would have thought so but theres been no mention of a fine, so i say again why penalise the people who pay there wages, We cant get fans through the gates as it is without suspending two of our better players.

We were a better team without half our better players. Suspend more of 'em, I say! icon_wink.gif

Quote: CHESHIRE CAT 57 "Have you ever heard the saying the customer is always right, We the fans are the customers of the club we pay to watch them play whether by paying at the gate or by purchasing a season ticket.
When we turn up for a game we want to see the best team possible play thats what we pay for, Now then we find that two of our senior players have breached club policy and have been banned from the club for a week,
So who is beeing punished the fans who pay there wages or even ther team mates who most probably will have to play with a weakened team facing yet what could be another defeat. So who is losing out, are the players having there wages docked i doubt it.Would it not be better for the Club to fine the players say a weeks wages and donate that money to a much needed charity, Then it is us the fans who dont end up being penalised.'"

Totally agree.

Cant help thinking the club has boobed on this one.

Fine the players and donate to charity, but to suspend them and weaken the team in the process seems pointless.

If as some have stated it was something and nothing - then why suspend them.

The mere fact that the club felt compelled to release a statement, suggests it was not something and nothing.

What ever did happen it has just served to embarrass the club.Whether by releasing the statement the club have actually invited that embarrassment is up for debate.

Someone mentioned,i think it was TRB,that the club needs a PR Man -this could have been his first task.

The indescretion they have comitted is a minor one, both players know the club rules (the rule they have broken runs throughout the club from 1st team to 18s) and they broke one of them. In my opinion I believe Kear has punished them in this way to show them that they are not only letting down themselves but their team mates as well - they are hurting the whole family. Hopefully they will learn from this infringement. Just hope it doesn't backfire and that the other lads don't isolate them from the group (in my opinion this is very unlikely).

Quote: RebelRebel "Have you ever [inot [/igone to a particular game because a certain player is not playing? Do fans support the players or the team? As a season ticket holder, do you ask for your money back if a player is out injured for the season who you expected would play when you bought the ticket?

The squad is announced days in advance of the game, in this case, you know who [iwon't[/i be playing at an even earlier stage, so you, the customer, can decide whether you want to go or not.

I don't know who's being punished here - I guess it all depends on the performance on the day. If we win without them, will you feel cheated of your money? If we lose without them, will it be any different to the last 5 games?'"
You have just answered my point when you see the squad you can make up your mind whether to go or not, we should'nt have to we should be guaranteed to see the best if fit team we have. Have you ever noticed how many fans go watching friendlies because clubs insist in playing fringe players,

I am impressed that the club has the bottle to suspend two of it's senior players. Players should not be allowed to think they are bigger than club or coach.

The fans should be guaranteed to see the best team the club can put out on the day, you're right. By making a stand on club discipline, we all hope, I imagine, that we'll see a better team performance that we would if the coach did nothing about it.

Well we can only hope so,But have we got enough fit players to fill there positions or will we end up playing unfit players and risking further injurys.
