Not sure why the club is announcing lower attendences.

IMO there was at least 6500 there yesterday.

My worry is that these figures make the home support look poor.

I would love to know how we would have got another 5500 people in the ground yesterday....something is not right

thought wigan had a decent crowd out today, i was well surprised at the 5500 announcement . We went in through the wild cats bar along with a few hundred more, do they count those people cos there is no turnstile just a doorman checking tickets

Even if the attendance was under-estimated by a 1,000, a gate of 6,500 would still be disappointing.

I think in these difficult times it is going to be very difficult to attract new fans, no matter how well the team does. If you were trying to get previous fans back it might be slightly easier, but we have very few of them to target.

In times of recession people are looking for good value for money and bargains - getting something back.

Wakey should consider schemes such as giving a voucher to those paying to attending the matches. If they collect 3 vouchers (from 3 different matches) for the 4th match they get in for half-price. To promote the scheme and to get it started a free voucher could be printed in the Express and/or Guardian to get new fans interested.

Exactly and that was the crowd (around 11,000) against Castleford in the relegation playoff match...

I was stood near the flats/hosptatilty boxes and the ground liked around 5500 which they printed not many in the sats and the tearraces below them,the end where wigan fans could have fitted asround 1500-2000 in and down the side where the wakey fans stand could have fitted alot more down.

If that is the case, we have a potential problem for the next two games....Wigan cup game could be same date as Leeds League One semi-final play-off and Shudds is the same date as the League One Play-Off final!! And before you say anything, I suspect Leeds might get to the final.......and lose!!

Yeah, we sit in the"sats" and there was lots of room....more than the Bulls game!
