I did, but exaggerating to make the point.
If he's good at his position, why 'try' him somewhere else. He's got a great chance of success there. Moving him will slow him down.
Once he's established then maybe.
Keith Smith played at stand off later in his career after Toppo left. He wasn't likely to displace him because 1) DT was an actual stand off and 2) both players benefitted playing alongside the other, in their best position.

Toppo was a true stand off yes but as I remember it he left for Hull and Smith was lined up to take over before his 'retirement '
Smith had all the talent needed to become a first class SO.
Anyway we'll just leave Pratt at centre and buy a SO!

I can't actually remember the last centre that made a successful move to stand off. I'm sure there have been some.
Smith was a really gifted player. I'm lucky to be just old enough to have seen him play.

| Brad Fittler the one that stands out to me. Greg Inglis played at 6 for the storm abit too. Tbf he was that much of a freak player he could play anywhere and still have the ability to pretty much win games on his own. Best player I’ve ever seen live.

| For Wakey. Tony Martin did a decent job at 6 from centre. Paul Sykes too.

| I was thinking of Casey too, but that kind of proves the point.
All those names are quite a while ago.

| My concern regarding the halves is that they are all alike.
We lack what the Aussies call a 5/8th we have 3 controlling playmakers but lack strike.
I don’t for 1 minute think Pratt in the answer and he should stay as a centre but it probably explains the link to Oliver Russell who is more of a natural traditional standoff.

I’m not sure I would call Lino a controlling half. His style is more suited to that of a running half and for me he’s not the same as Gale and Lawford who look to be more controlling players. Lino is quite reactive and a lot of his game tends to be on the running/stepping side and taking it to the line.
Not that sure on Russell as not seen him much.

After his first half performance, Lino should be made way for Lawford who I was nothing but impressed by throughout preseason,

I was one of Lino’s main critics last season but I’ve given him a clean slate this year.
It’s too early to judge yet though I expect big things from Lino this season.
Lawford has impressed me too so Lino will have to be on his game. Powder is dry for now and I’m giving Lino a chance to get some games under his belt and see how he goes and judge him on his performances this year and not last.
