Does the wording really matter, although if you read this thread back it is available.
What matters is why he even bothered to reply. He wasn't required to, considering the situation wouldn't anyone other than a mischief maker just politely decline?

Exactly, unless the letter is positve about NM, which if he was approached by the NO campaigners you can safely say it isn't, then he is actively getting involved in putting a spanner in the works of wakefield.
Even if he has said something that is already public domain, he could have just not said nothing instead.

Mr vastman, as far as i know RW was asked a question and replied via this so called letter.
Who the question came from i dont know, what was in the letter i dont know.
No one as put the actual wording on this forum, we can all surmise, but no one know as of yet.
I think until we do know i think we should hang fire in name calling.

I understand your position, and usually i'd agree with you but in all honesty there is 99.9% probability that what ever he wrote wasn't to the benefit of WWRLFC, and that's probably the reason they are upset without the full facts.

I have a copy but will not post it on here. Its not what its says but the context. If you had been today you would have heard that WMDC must satisfy the inspector of a need and benefit of the whole development in order to justify green belt planning permission. One major factor in this case is trinitys 'need ' for a new stadium. Knock this one back and all of the rest will fail with it and the development will be refused. The nimbys will also know that, so how do they go about disproving that trinity have an over riding need for a new stadium ? they contact Wright and ask him if he can help. (by the way his last para says he is glad to help and will be happy to provide any further assistance).
He basically says Cas have a stadium in the bag at Glasshoughton..Not a community stadium but a Cas stadium. They would like Wakefield to share it. It is very close to Newmarket so taking this on face value Wakefield do not really need the stadium at newmarket there is a viable alternative almost ready.

| I'll post it:
"I have been asked to comment on the position of Castleford tigers with regard to the possibility of another club playing at our new stadium at Glasshoughton.
In the first instance I can confirm that we are looking for new organisations to use our new facilities in a number of ways and we would be happy for this to be in the form of another sports club using the stadium subject to a suitable agreement being put in place. It is a community stadium and it is our objective that it is used regularly by the community.
More specifically we did agree to participate in a Wakefield Council funded feasibility study in July 2010 to determine the best location for a new community stadium in the Wakefield district; this would accommodate a ground share between ourselves and Wakefield wildcats. The Council, to our disappointment, were forced to abandon this study when Wakefield wildcats refused to participate.
However, whist we have made significant progress with our site at junction32, including a detailed planning consent in April 2011, our position with regard to sharing our new facility at Junction 32 with another club has not changed. We plan to increase revenues into the stadium from a number of sources and provide significant benefits to the community.
If you need any further information do not hesitate to contact me."
So, which part is not true?

| It may be true but his option to reply in a negative way to NM speaks volumes.

In amongst all of the twaddle, newspapers also print many facts. It's the emotive language used to surround the facts that they use to persuade people to agree with their own bias. RW has essentially done the same thing; I've highlighted those words for you, so you can understand this.
From our point of view, there are some good things about the language used to write this letter - RW states a few times that his club are looking to secure further organisations to join them at GH (read: to fund it). It should be fairly easy for us to argue to the inspector (if indeed we haven't already) that this is a pretty self-serving letter, given current circumstances and the language used.
Also, when did Cas get permission to build a "community stadium", as RW repeatedly mentions? Did I miss something?!
Finally, insofar as stating facts: had RW really desired to do that, the letter would have read as follows:
1) Cas have detailed planning permission for GH but have yet to build the stadium. There are currently some issues in doing so.
2) Cas will groundshare if Wakefield want to.
3) Wakefield declined a feasability study for a groundshare.
EDIT: highlighting in bold apparently doesn't show up much!

| Or to paraphrase:
"You don't need to let Trinity have Newmarket because they can play at our place, preparation for which is going really well. Look, here's a picture of me on a digger. In fact, you've only got to have this inquiry because of the unreasonableness of Trinity. So put away your briefcase now and go home. Nothing to see."
Like any procedure where two sides are heard, you are going to hear things you don't agree with. If RW's offer to play out of Glasshoughton swings it, then we don't stand a chance. Just treat it with the contempt it deserves.
Now, when Tesco start their planning for Wheldon Road, it will be perfectly alright for Mr Glover to write a letter on headed paper saying, "we've got loads of supermarkets and Cas can play out of Newmarket." Or maybe he won't, because it would just be wrong and irrelevant.

| The councils feasibility study into the best location for a groundshare, that we refused to participate in, it would appear that RW, as he states on two seperate occasions, only has eyes for GH.
That hardly fits in with them willingly taking part in a feasibility study.
Yet again RW guilty of peddling a line, we will see how far cas have come with GH when we leave them behing when NM gets the green light, and GH is still just a plan on a piece of paper.
