Well this guy would seem to fit the bill nicely. I think that a bigger consideration than money with potential investors is putting themselves in the firing line with supporters. Would you want your family exposed to some of the drivel that Ted and his family have received?

They take the hand shaking and the back slapping when its good and the insults and abuse when its not so good. I think the term used is it goes with the territory unfortunately.

You certainly need to have a thick skin to be involved in any way at this club, but then you can't let what a bunch of anonymous people say online get to you otherwise no one would ever step out of the crowd and make something of themselves.

I see what your saying. The point I was making though was that these are the things that people have to way up when thinking about this sort of role, its not just a matter of he or she is a trin fan and have the money and time. Also that you are not just exposing yourself but your family.

The guy certainly seems to fit the bill in many ways and may well be the spark to ignite your club again.

For me, that expression sums up perfectly what needs to happen at WTW; a total rebuild from the bottom up and a slick, professional rebranding campaign to get the (understandably) jaded Wakey public interested again.

Why would people like that (all have proven track records in their respective fields) buy a club and then not put money in?

I think some people, myself included, have been a bit harsh on Ted over the years in some respects. Putting money in being a principle one. If Ted had the money I'm sure he would have invested it, he loves WT as much as any on here. But the truth is he doesn't have the money, and has been in financial decline for some time. Yet he still put in what he could and made the best of the situation- from his point of view. Whether or not it was right for the club and should he have stepped aside earlier are separate issues.
I honestly believe Ted did what he thought was best for the club and has endangered his own financial health in process.

However Ted is almost history, I have no doubt the new boss/bosses will want success and that will require funding.

As if anyone would buy the club to sit on it as it is. In decline and shaken at best. What sort of an investment would that be. That approach doesn't sit with any of the mentioned businessmen.
