Why would that happen?

| Quote Khlav Kalash="Khlav Kalash"Why don’t Sky show any football games on a Saturday at 3pm? It’s to protect the crowd figures at all football clubs who play at that time.'"
Of course, and is a UEFA rule - [urlhttp://www.uefa.com/uefa/News/Kind=8192/newsId=19817.html[/url - but that is different from what you are proposing.
The contract between the RFL/SL and BSkyB takes into account that some fans will stay away and watch at home - that's why they pay the amount they do - same with football, union and other sports. It is then down to the clubs, who all have these community and marketing departments, to sell these games to the public as that by going to the match they are getting some extra you can't get by watching at home or staying in the pub.
Quote Khlav Kalash="Khlav Kalash"Why would a reduction be on the cards, they still broadcast the match, Sky subscribers will still be paying for it and have access to Sky Sports, they don’t lose any money.'"
Because the potential number of viewers, which they sell advertising based on, is reduced.

Believe me I don’t propose to take away the clubs responsibility to market the games and entice support through whatever means, it just takes away the easy option for people to stay at home and watch on TV no matter what offers the club puts on.
Anyhow it was just an idea and I’m sure it has many flaws.

£18 is too much money for a casual supporter to spend when they can watch for free at home or in the pub. Poor crowd, yes, a game to whet the appetite of those other then hardcore support, no.'"
But it costs about that to go and see Bradford City (if you pay on the gate) and that's hardly top flight.
Either RL fans are skint or tightwads or both!

How much is a season ticket for Bradford City though? £100? With a season ticket that price an expensive match day attendance is needed to make up the loss.
… and again comparing football crowds to RL is pointless.

In direct numbers yes, but on a pro-rata basis we should be doing a lot better.

| Quote chapster="chapster"ok heres my thoughts
1.
club shop must be relocated, and art present theres plenty of options, my personal favourite being a deal with an existing town centre sports shop , (even if its jjb) for a corner of their location, from this we base promotions, peiople like us could gwt involved as volunteers to a captive pre xmas audience, in the case of season tickets and shirts. If not this at least rent a unit up to xmas and have all the things people want available, discounted season tickets home and away shirts, naked pictures of players etc etc!
2
Players to be available to these units to sign photos, books, shirts pose for pics etc on rota basis, but any big names ie tronc, newton, millard paraded in town centre, ok nicked his from puffball but its works and earns.
3
Family deals for every games to include season ticket holders, felt for one posrter on here last night when he pointed out it cost 72 quid a game for him to take family, if youe a regular and can prove it (loyalty card anyone???) you get 3 home stamps for example you get 2 free kids tickets for next game, what would it hurt??? in fact maybe a loyalty card scheme anyway ?????
4
nothing, there is noooooooooo fourth thing!'"
where's the 72 quid from ? 2 adults and 2 kids = £46 if tickets bought prior to game day ! with only £3 worth of fuel required then it can't have been that hard..or purchase over t'internet!

| i don't know if i am correct in this but there were not many kids dancing / playing prior to the game. the parents get concession prices for these but weren't they not allowed by the rfl for the play off games?
i know i have moaned before about them being there but it must improve the attendances somewhat.
