Not really. Nobody is seriously doubting his ability, he's a good strong ex NRL player, I'd have him at Wakefield if he was on offer. What I question is the hype Leeds fans have heaped on him since day one. Leeds have had far better imports in the SL era than this player IMO but for reasons, I don't get a group of you seem to be obsessed with raising this player to the same level. Your choice but I just don't see it.

To me, stats don't tell the whole story as you well know. My RL brain tells me he is not nor ever was a Jamie Lyons or a Mal Meninga let alone a Nei Fox, please don't argue that.

Liam Kaye who plays for us has probably the best stats as a winger I've ever seen, incredible on face value but I'm not arguing that he's the best winger in SL, despite his stats he's not even the best winger at Trinity, possibly not the second best.

I certainly would not rate Jack Walker above Max Jowitt for a start, true in terms of hype he wins hands down, in terms of actual achievements so far he does not.

The real point that people are making is that if Leeds lose, the missing players will be used as an excuse and no credit will go to the opposition.

if Wakefield loses we will be in crisis and none of our injuries will coun or even be mentioned.

Think the first 6 games will tell were we will be in S L this season .I can see everyone of the team's we play finishing in the top 8 .A good team in S L run hard ,tackles hard .Just hope that we are fit enough to stand the onslaught of playing against top 8 teams for the first 6 games ,and do not pick up bad injuries .

Ploiner, I tend to think of you as one of the more level headed posters on here and for what it's worth I actually agree with you on this at this moment in time, however with Jowett getting the 1 shirt this season, I dont think that will be true come the end of the season imo, let's not forget the club had offers from multiple clubs wanting to pay a transfer fee for Jowett in his break through season, he just hasn't had the chance to kick on but whenever he plays he's brilliant.

Some of your fans seem to hold your players in very high esteem, they are border line deluded imo mate, Oldeski over Walmsley was one that baffled me the other day, not sure anyone outside of a group or Leedw fans seem to think that alongside "Tetavano will be the best prop in the league this season" before he has even stepped foot on a pitch, wasn't that exactly the same with Merrin?
