Agree with that but they'll likely be others who get gigs as 'squad players', mainly due to the lack of numbers these days. Jowitt & Crowther still have time on their side and will likely get picked up, Langi i could see heading back to France and Kay's versatility might be useful to a smaller squad like Salford. Not much else though to be honest unless the promoted side take some.
Losing those promising youngsters will smart the most though.

| Hopefully, if we do go down, we can sell first team rugby to the young ones.

Can’t see that happening at all unfortunately. Proctor is like the kiwi Chevy Chase doing his European Vacations at the moment and Atoni wouldn’t get a gig at Crigglestone All Blacks with his stats. Our dogger recruitment over the last few years has really come back to bite us. We have way too much dead wood with Lineham and co offering nothing what a standard championship player would, although that’s been disrespectful to those players.

| Why is Proctor, Atoni and Taufua anywhere near the match day squad of 17? They ought to be sent out on loan along with Lineham.
You’d hope that Bowden, Battye, Eseh and Whitbread would be the first choice props and that Senior would be the better option with his pace on the wing instead of Taufua.
Applegarth as coach has made terrible mistakes bringing in Proctor and Atoni.
Get a new coach at the end of the season and give them time to rebuild in the championship.

| The problem for some with their fitness is that they are carrying far too much hair. It’s clear to see, well unless it starts to rain. They hair cannot help with the aerodynamics and must clearly slow them down.

Problem with the first bit is somebody has to want them. Can’t see why anyone would.

The youngsters are the key part…
If we get relegated are we not entitled to any compensation under the homegrown rules for Eseh/Bowes/Pratt/Windrow etc.
To be perfectly honest if we do end up in the championship I’m hoping these lads are the ones that make up part of the team next season. We wouldn’t just lose them for free surely after the effort of developing them?
If we do end up relegated we absolutely must stay full time like Fev and look to top the league. We would have similar/more crowds than Fev and likely more earning potential outside game day with new facilities.
I agree though it would hurt the most losing the young players and it would be an absolute travesty if we couldn’t maintain the elite academy. The super league and championship is absolutely littered with trinity ex academy players. It’s actually one thing we get right.

| Think somebody quoted earlier that carter chose applegarth as probably easy to manipulate. That surely must be the only reason the big earners are in,because even the coach must see with the stats how shocking they are. Also when we played leigh & the superleague show was there funny how mr carter missed a chance to be on tv. probably couldn't explain whats goin on, although an appearance would have been nice to let the fans know.

I agree they should go back to Aus and for Proctor to retire and acknowledge that he can no longer perform to the levels required.
Surely Rob Butler’s stats are at least as good as Proctor and Atoni?
Should go with Whitbread, Bowden, Battye and Eseh as first choice props for the rest of the season and just get a little consistency in the pack.
Keep Pitts at loose forward and sell Tanginoa to Warrington before he goes for free at the end of the season as the team is already relegated and the few thousand quid from the sale can be invested in promising local talent for next season.
Play Bowes at 9 with Hood and Smith as back up.
Put Kay back to the wing as he’s got some pace and it’s where he’s been a success for most of his career.
Send Taufua out on loan to Championship.
Get Croft back and play him at centre alongside Langi who has offered more than Lynne who appears spent.
Hopefully Trinity get Milnes on loan for the rest of the season and who knows maybe get to keep him next season for the Championship.

All about the contract detail as all super league contracts have a relegation clause, meaning they are null & void on when we go down. To maintain any compensation claims there are rules about offering more favourable terms, non-material changes, when the deal is offered etc. It’s a bit of a legal minefield that savvy agents can take advantage on. Then there is the option of lower league rugby in Australia for a year. A few of our lads peers have already done that and they may fancy it themselves, and we don’t get anything if they do that. Hopefully it works out but there is no guarantee we get paid out as we’ve already seen with Croft & Shaw. For the record Bowes will have gone beyond the cut off date anyway so he is free to do as he pleases from 1st May.

| Well we are still paying Shaw, surely it would have been better to offer him a decent contract and play him instead of our overseas rubbish. Far cheaper too.
