Absolutely is but how can we moan about signings etc from the club who I assume we all love when we know they are not flush with cash when we refuse to buy the tickets etc.
These comments obvs not meant to offend anyone who cannot afford to buy tickets as family and bills must come first

| The only player leaving that has affected the team is Westerman in my opinion.
The others have either been outside the starting 17 or reached an age where they want to step back.
MC has stated he is still looking for a middle and a centre. I really can't see the need for all the drama.
It's 4 months before we lace up a boot in anger.

| Having watched the Q&A on the website, I must admit that it appears that Rocky neither asked for an extension and neither did the club offer him a further deal, it might be my interpretation of the answer by MC, it would be most unlikely I feel that this was the case.
The answers re the Aussie signing for Wire were interesting from MC in essence he was discussed and contact was made with his agent but no offer.
Also interesting on the increase in sponsors and how the hospitality looks fairly healthy but the uptake on season tickets is 23% down on 2 years ago at this stage. Bearing in mind that was pre pandemic. Although a significant decrease I believe this represents the wider apathy towards the game by supporters of the game reflected in crowds across the clubs this last season and also the uncertainty of being unable to attend, that's just my opinion.

Agree and even Westerman missed a few towards the end of last season albeit some were COVID related. Be interesting to see what Cas get out of him. Of the other leavers I would have kept Arundel but you can’t knock him for wanting to drop down and pursue his other interests, at the end of the day he was also cover

| Losing Rocky is certainly a disappointment but our team will move on without him and it gives others the opportunity to stake a claim on a spot in the starting line up . As been already said by poptart the loss of Westerman is a harder pill to swollen IMO

Because IMHO there won’t be any more incomings, it will be throwing good money down the drain, we might well get the old “we’ll run with what we’ve got and if anyone becomes available we’ll have a look” gag just to appease people. We seem to be letting players leave to make up the shortfall of the SKY £260K, all the clubs are down by the same amount, some can afford it, others are speculating to accumulate, my prediction is a very long, hard soul destroying season coming up.

| Personally I think it`s a terrible decision to let Hampshire go, we talk about getting value for money from a player with us been a club that is tight on budget, we also say we are running a small squad and yes we don`t know the wage demands but here we have a player that can play all of the pivotal positions in the halves, fullback to a high standard and also cover the wing and hooker, to a decent standard, I don`t see a more valuable utility out there.
Someone posted above, signing Gaskell hasn`t stopped us signing Hampshire, I`m sorry but the harsh reality is I think he has, this is a conversation about agreeing a Salary and budget, not saying Gaskell won`t turn out to be brilliant for us, but I`m actually struggling to see where we will find a spot for him? And he`s not as versatile as Hampshire IMO.

Signing Gaskel and letting Hampshire go is a bad move by the club .Hampshire as one thing that you can not teach and that is speed .Though we were getting over the bad signings by Mr Chester but this as pushed us back'"
So what, you can do anything for 67 years but that doesn't necessarily mean you've learned a thing. something your posts suggest you haven't.
Nobody on here with maybe a few exceptions knows what's happening behind the scenes and that includes you and me so don't do the I'm an expert sketch with me, it won't wash.
I've no idea whether losing Hampshire and gaining Gaskell is good or bad, personally, I'd like to have both. I'm not so arrogant as to assume I can see into the future. What I am certain about is that if I listened to the know all doom-mongers on here Trinity would now be playing in the Pennine leagues, Lyne would never make a centre and Tom Johnstone can't defend or owt else for that matter.
I take every new season as a fresh start and every player gets a clean sheet, if that's not acceptable to people like you then good.

True but I wish you'd change your mind.
Regardless of the team, as yet incomplete and IMHO better than you seem to rate them, you are possibly missing the bigger picture.
You and I have worked on and off to get a decent stadium for the club and its fans and we are now almost there all be it less than we wanted, I honestly believe we are almost there. I've bought two season tickets this year purely for that reason. I don't expect much joy on-field this season but my mind is set on the big prize, the two new stands. I can take one more disappointing season for the future of the club to ensure a future regardless of who's playing, coaching or running it.
I'm asking you and others to stay the course, it's never been easy so one more year shouldn't matter, please reconsider.

PT it is the panic month, it's the same every year but now Hampshire has been thrown into the mix it's a feeding frenzy and not just the normal culprits.
Hampshire will join the ranks of the martyrs regardless of whatever the truth is. All WP did and the accolades given on here are now all forgotten, ditto MC who is rapidly becoming a pantomime villain. It's how some people think, it's what they want and your obvious logic plays no part in that.
Not one minute of one game played in the new season and the knives are already out and the white flag is raised. Yet we expect 17 young men to go out and perform with such accolades ringing in their ears, how tragic can we get on here?

| We are in the entertainment business at the time of an increase in the cost of living. It is therefore necessary to give supporters a reason to spend over £250 of their diminishing incomes. The club charges premium prices for replica shirts, they even charge to go into the bar let alone the cost of the drinks.
I regret at this time you can only expect a supporter to invest so much especially after the last two seasons. The club need to generate positivity and hope for better next season but all we get is how much the loss of the Sky money is and how we must run with a smaller and what appears less quality in our squad. We can compare to Salford because their average attendances are probably lower than ours and what revenue do they generate from the ground but yet they have without doubt recruited much more quality than us. I wonder how their sales of season tickets are going.
With regards one more poor season unfortunately we do not have that luxury because I believe Toulouse will be a much bigger threat than Leigh were. We may end up with two new stands but what good are they in the Championship which could be the most competitive division in rugby league next season. The last time how long did it take us to get back into the top flight.

| Quote: Scarlet Pimpernell "It’s not just Hampshire is it, we have allowed 10 others to go from last years first team squad. The problem is that Hampshire was usually one of our better performers but the club do not think he worth what he wants or he is not willing to accept what they offer. If it is the latter he won’t have any trouble finding another club.
I suppose you do realise that supporters other than those on the forum buy season tickets. It is the club’s responsibility to put a squad together that encourages season ticket sales. I guess they rely on support without question which may apply to some but not all. I would suggest that you do not belittle those that have doubts. We should remember that we have endured two seasons of mediocrity bordering on pathetic and currently our plan is to go into the next with a worse squad and this was the same people whose judgment was to give Chester an extended contract.
I have said elsewhere we shall see either the club’s strategy proves to be correct or we face another season of uncertainty.'"
The fact of the matter is that we have lost 6 senior guys who managed to play 5 or more games last season and signed 5 with possibly more to come.
I wouldn’t worry though. You haven’t got much longer to suffer

At least we had a change of coach, which will hopefully see a significantly better attitude among the players that we do have.
Unfortunately, Trinity dont have the funds to speculate, as some other clubs do and we dont have the luxury of being in a position to run up huge debts.
We end up back in the situation of it being better to have a club to support than one in administration.
At least the guys running the club will ensure that we dont go bust and EVERY club in SL will be affected by the reduced Sky monies, with plenty already racking up serious debts.
I know that its a classic catch 22 about winning and attracting fans stc but, if we speculate and fail, we'd be right in the brown stuff.
Lets see what the final squad looks like and hope that when we pick up some injuries', there will be some youngsters chomping at the bit, to show what they can do.

Don't like the sound of that.
You're either putting out a hit on Scarlett when he's not worth it,
Or someone about to call it a day and I wouldn't blame them and if the club goes down the crapper then those on here will have had their dreams come true.
One slightly above average player won't sign a contract and it's the end of the world, why bother.
