| Few of my thoughts from yesterday....
Kaye Did very well I thought, worthy of keeping his place and didnt let anybody down.
Collis No real threat from him, assume he was still suffering the effects of the injury.
Lyne Showed up pretty well and worthy of his place.
Cockayne Plenty of effort and determination again, but whilst he had a decent game it looks increasingly less likely he will recapture his early season form.
L Smith Absolute passenger yesterday, truly awful - but in his defense he is still out of position so.....
T Smith Off day, supposed top quality half back who can only pass one way.... can allow him a sally as he has no Sykes.
Amor Outstanding, man of the match by a country mile. Well played again.
Aton Need more from him in attack, needs to play like he did against FC and Widnes rather than simply standing and passing.
Poore Honestly can't see what the fuss is about this lad is for, after pulling his socks up for a few games mid season he has slipped back. If he was state of origin quality then there's hope for Kyle Bibb yet. Send him to Dr Cockrash and cash in for me - use the money for a genuine half. He is basically Korkidas reincarnated for me.
Kirkmond Clearly not fit, but still our 2nd best player. Deserves a medal for the shifts he has put in the last few weeks.
Washbrook Badly out of form - question is like Cockayne, can he ever get it back?
Goulding Very nice in what he played, offered us something different. Would really be keen to see more of him.
Too many passengers on the park for me, mainly due to us playing a makeshift side with 'make do and mend'. Somebody at some point this year decided we had enough half backs when deciding a couple of players were "surplus to requirements" and that decision has probably cost us a play off place.
I don't knock the coaching staff for poor performances on the field, that lies firmly at the feet of the players, but when strategic decisions are got wrong like this one then whoever has made them needs to be held accountable.

Any knowledgible statisticians about?'"
Not sure about that but it would only be reasonable as both have been doing the same things wrong and only one being dropped.

I've heard it all now, so a good coach would have us in the top 6

Squadbuilder.........building a squad together: |

| To be honest much as I was disappointed yesterday after some thought the 3 games ...Leeds twice & Bulls were the 3 we could have won we were just a Broughy/ Chase away from taking 2 points from each of those games . The Wire game was again a close loss. Think the players have now got to the point that they've tried and tried and can alos see we need that X factor . yesterday they looked tired and maybe time to bring a few of the dual reg folk back and give the oldies a rest ( am thinking Mathers in particular) Its in no way a criticism of Mathers as I like him and the influence he has on the team but he could do with a rest to come back fresher.

This is my feeling on the game too, a game that despite the loss I really enjoyed
Thought there were some great individual efforts, Amore can't be far from an England call up
The determination in the two try saving tackles Kirmond put in towards the end of the match were oustanding
The Lynne length of pitch try
Tautis run up the middle of the pitch! Think we have a real gem in this guy
Our defense as a team has come on in leaps and bounds and some of the attacking play was excellent, I love watching TS play, the guy is magic
I just feel we need some one to take the pressure off TS a bit.......... a LF that has an attacking kicking game mayhaps
Braith Anasta to replace Washbrook would be nice

| If Addy has signed as been rumoured and him at Loose Forward would take pressure off of Timmy because he has a great kicking game IMO.

You are right to laugh at that statement as it is indeed incorrect
It should have read "an average coach would have us in the top 6"
We have good players underperforming for a poor coach.

I don't agree
As an example, one of our better players, in Lee Smith, couldn't get a game with the Leeds reserves.
Mathers was let go by Cas, Cockayne was kicked out by HullKR (admittedly not for football reasons) Leeds didn't want Amor, Kirmond was let go by Huddersfield......they could all have been retained.
Even Tim Smith was struggling to play first grade. Only the bottom teams in Super League were interested.
We as a club and the current and previous coach in some cases made them into a good team.
We have hardly got a team of all talents that could just walk in the top 6.
I do however think we are are at the top end of the group below that and we could, with some stability and a couple of additions make it into that group as Hull KR are doing.
