Lets face it our gates are pathetic whether there appear to be more there than announced.

We are playing better than last season at the same time but our gates have fallen when they should at least be holding steady. We have around a hardcore of 4,500 to 5,000 fans compared with say Castleford who I'd say have a hardcore of 7,000 ish. On income thats an extra of at least £350,000 pa - how can we complete with that let alone better supported clubs.

If this is true and Danny is being sold to balance the books what message does that send to the players let alone the fans. Who will want to play for a club that appears to lack ambition.

I have a business and I know about income and expenditure and if we are skint then selling may be the only alternative but its the road to ruin. We have to look deeper as to why the gates are down, its not performance on the field and address the problem.

We have to look at our Marketing. Why can other clubs, argueably not as good as us get better gates, what are they doing. We know about the Huddersfield season ticket offer and some laughed at it but they are averaging 9,000. We need to pay someone good money with performance bonuses to come in and shake up the whole of our marketing. I know we have laughed and taken the mickey but hot having medium shirts in the shop - missed revenue and I'm sure there are other similar examples.

Next week is the shareholders meeting when I believe that 100,000 £1 shares will be offered for sale - what chance do we have of selling them with news like this. This time last week I was over the moon, 4th in League and a new Stadium announced now I'm totally peed off.

If we don't get this sorted we won't have to worry about a new 12,000 stadium, Belle Vue will suffice for the forseable future.

Sorry for the rant but totally fed up.

there wasnt a word of that i disagreed with! and this has happened before lets face it, we look good, get to play offs one or two players get in spotlight and they go
gareth ellis
solomona
even korki jeffries tadu all part of the playoff team

its called the shop window, and frankly all our players are in it after our start this season.

dont blame players fact is most players have ten years to earn what res of us have 40 because its their career

The team are playing their hearts out, playing some good rugby, we got to a semi-final last year and should have made the play-offs, BUT our gates are down. Trinity need to re-establish their identity with the people of Wakefield, although it's not for the want of trying on their part. The coverage in the Wakey Express is better than it was, but there could be more input from the club.

Gates of 5000 against Wigan ( a game that on paper we could/should have won) just won't keep the club at this level for much longer. How the hell do we get the message out to Wakefield that we risk losing one of the few good things about this city?

as a fan it stinks as its a short term fix, to the younger fans danny is a hero, like it or not. and i know hes not popular on here, but hes won us many more games than hes lost us and hes a winner, he goes to hudds im going to be very very peeved indeed.'"

He is a matchwinner, we can not afford to lose players of his calibre, especially to rivals.

i more or less totally agree with everything youve said but as regarding huddersfield im sure someone will come on here correct me they have had hull leeds saints at home ? as well as celtic and quins the gates again those 2 teams were 6,400 and 6,300 with season tickets at half price compared to last season with those teams bringing very little away following through distance travel if you half the crowd as there tickets are at half cost to ours that makes those crowds 3,200 and 3,150 they get more revenue from sales etc something isnt adding up to me at all

Couldn't agree more. If this goes ahead then it shows just how short sighted the people running the club are. How the hell are the club going to progress selling its most prized assets? Something here stinks and we need clarity and we need it now. The attendances announced this year have been a p1ss take, the marketing has become vitually non existant and now we are selling the family silver. So what is it? Is the club in financial trouble? This club really is at the crossroads. With the squad, backroom staff and spirit we have at the club we could be close to a breakthrough onto bigger and better things, to let it go to waste after so much hard work since THAT night in 2006 would be a crime. It would alienate yet another generation of fans and the way the game is these days that could well be that. Sort it and sort it now otherwise that new ground ain't gonna be needed.

I know what Sandal cat is saying, but the simple truth is the most effective part of our back room staff are James Elston and Davide Longo. They are hard working and very very good at their roles. The club IMHO will never get over the biggest loss in years, and that is Steve Ferris. SF is a very dynamic and go foward bloke, and with the other two mentioned we had a very bright future, however to replace him was impossible and a huge loss, far more than the loss of any player. I cant think that with him we would be better all round.

I hope for all of us that the new ground goes ahead, we need it now more than at any other time.

Good job we drew Wigan in the cup and not a lower division team (with all due respect). At least we will have a share of BBC tv money, plus hopefully a bigger gate.
