| Quote: Khlav Kalash "The new season is about to start and walking round Wakefield you would have no idea. I know supporters are not able to attend but we are in real danger of becoming irrelevant to potential fans. On top of that, driving home today I see an electronic billboard promoting Wakefield AFC to rush hour traffic by the A61 near what was Charlie Browns. 'Bringing football to Wakefield!'.
If a barely more than Sunday League club can afford to do this why can't Trinity?
Fully prepared to see the standard response that the best way to increase support is a challenge cup win but let's be honest it's not happened for a life time and looks more unlikely now than it ever was, so something has to give in the interim.
What is the strategy to increase our average? Perhaps a good question for JM or MC?'"
Bringing football to Wakefield? They play in Featherstone.

| I actually think getting one of the big pubs on board in the Centre of Wakey is a good idea - where everyone goes before and after games - have a bus to and from ground - will get the pub known as the wakey trintiy pub - signs /flags etc outisde pub at all times
the players come back there after games etc - the buzz will be created .
over here the leagues clubs near the grounds are full before after and even when the games are not on

Trinity haven't won a major trophy for over 50 years and this and only this will have a major effect on crowd numbers.
The revamped stadium will help to add some numbers but, only on field success will really make a difference.'"
Correct, we play in a dump of a stadium and haven’t won anything for over 50 years . Stadium hopefully getting sorted will show we have ambition to improve the club and keep improving on the field and we will be ok for crowds. When we’ve had a sniff the crowds have come only to be let down and the hardcore remain. There is appetite for RL and Wakefield Trinity and also more potential to get bigger than a lot of the small town clubs.

| Stadium is more important than trophies imho.
Winning more than we lose would be a good start.
The fact we are in lockdown partly explains the lack of billboards in Wakefield. Both because there is no one to see it and we have less money available.
We need to do more, but I'm happy to see social media advertising. In modern times that is more than a billboard..... Though once we get a rush hour back, billboard becomes more relevant.

| I wonder if we could have a word with our "Friends" on Wakefield City Council and at each road into the City (not the district) erect new eye catching boundary signs with the legend: "WELCOME TO WAKEFIELD HOME OF WAKEFIELD TRINITY RLFC", or similar. It would remind locals and visitors that we do have a club every time they come into town.

I've been saying this for quite a while. Can't see the council doing it though.

Who's paying for the pub to get on board and the buses?
The club is trying to get people into the Bar/Shack etc.
Why would they want to take trade away from the ground and into a city centre pub?
The players are in the club bar after the game - again bringing fans in.
Why would they want to trail back to the city?

| With projects like the Wakefield Trinity Foundation I think we are more relevant than ever.

Good idea RC. - I remember a sign coming off the M1 at Durkar- ‘welcome to Wakefield the home of Wakefield Europort ’
So, if it’s assumed we are all proud of something nobody knows anything about, why not our local RL team steeped in history!

| We definitely need to do more as a club to promote Wakefield Trinity, we haven't been very good at this for years.
A supporters volunteer group would be good, people chipping in with idea's, plans, printing etc?
Hammer the city and surrounding areas just prior to each match day, getting posters up everywhere?

| No pop tart I'm not saying we have pot loads of money, just the opposite. I'm saying it's the first thing not only the management but the fans are quick to point out the lack of. It,
I for one get sick of hearing it, no money for this that and the other.
Let's be honest the Wakefield public have been let down on a number of occasions over the years by verious management teams with only the most ardent fan remaining.. The club in my view don't engage with the Wakey public in general and certainly don't encourage visiters to the ground. When the new stadiums under way the club will need a number of insentives to to encourage new supportes and not just expect a boom in attendances.
I'm 64 now and have supported Trinity for m any years,, I used to be in a group of 6 it's now only 2., we used to stand next to people who over the years have disappeared but it's more noticeable over the last 8 years or so.
The club in my view seem content to cut its cloth accordingly without doing anything to create a successful buz

| On the plus side, the merchandise and number of people wearing it has grown massively and it's great to see so many people wearing the red, white & blue of Trinity
