The defense is a great result of the game and we will need that but I'd like to see us running the attack more...... But of course that is what they do in training so I don't doubt Chester is on that.'"

Actually I should correct myself as although I don't think we should not look at the attack in friendlies, Chester has just said that he and Smith clearly held back some of the attack to not give away anything for the first game.

TJ looked good for a first run out. He’s obviously a way off his best but physically looked tip top in contact.

Josh Woods I really like the look of. Looks like he enjoys putting shots on and good distribution at ptb.

All in all a good run out and an improvement on the showing at Leeds. Still think we’re short of top 5 quality but looked ahead of HKR on this showing. Still some big players to come back in for us, honestly not sure who they were missing.
Masoe was stretchered off early on for them, hope he’s back soon always enjoyed watching him

That was Hauraki you saw in the boot. Masoe was taken to Hopital with a neck injury.

Well there’s a surprise.

Perhaps it’s credit to HKR defence.

I’m with you, why show your hand 3 weeks from the opening game, you’d be mad to. I think HKR will struggle all those halfbacks and we were the ones that created their chances (3 I counted) considering the conditions and the stop start nature of the HKR team dropping like flies I though it was a pretty good result icon_thumb.gif

I thought Titus Gwaze looked a lot more trim today than I have seen him before. Wasn't sure if he would be able to step up to the first team when I've seen him previously but I thought he fitted in quite well today for a young lad.

Ah but his brother-in-law is!
He's a reds supporter but his twang is well and truly Wakefield (born and bred!) icon_biggrin.gif
