| Hasson has played at a high standard in the NRL for a number of years. Anthony Walker hasn't and is now at Rochdale isn't he?
Think if the rumour is true and Hasson can play at his previous high standards then it's an excellent signing if Trinity props are carrying a number of injuries etc. He won't count on the quota as born London and plays for Irekand.
Would be good though if there was a hooker from NRL to come in for the Middle Eights.

| He played starting prop for Salford in the league game at their place and I thought he was their best forward on the field that day.
Just checked the Salford web site this morning and I can't see him on their team list.
If true could be a very astute signing.

I wish someone could give me a name of a hooker available right now. Everyone keeps saying it, but nobody knows one??

| Quote: upthecats "From CC's prematch interview I got the impression both Huby & England were carrying knocks...he said both were having to be 'kept off their feet' until the end of the season....Hirst and Annakin (who were probably way down the pecking order at the start of the season) have both had quite a sustained run in the side...probably longer than would have been thought...they've both done brilliant for me but is the idea to bring in another potentially quality forward just to shuffle and freshen up the troops a bit?
Don't know much about the lad but Salford must have thought something of him to bring him over...might just be one of those occasions where a potential good signing is offered to us and we can just have a look with a short term deal with a view to making it a longer one if it goes well? Think I read somewhere that he has an English passport too so maybe doesn't count on the quota?
Would surely see the end of Allgood at the season end to free up his quota spot for the hooker if he went well?'"
When England went off in the 2nd half he ran past the goal line and you could see he was limping
He played really well last night ( and started to find good form in the last couple of matches) but it's clear he is carrying an injury
Credit to England for trying to play through it

Most players who've put in a stint carry a knock when they come off especially props - not necessarily an injury just the inevitable seizing of the joints after a tough run out.He may be injured but I wouldn't assume it due to a limp.

| Hope he goes well for you guys. He was pretty awful for us and a strange signing when we made it. Awful is maybe too strong. Average is probably better. Different environments bring out different things in players so hopefully he'll go well for you, just don't expect anything exciting from him.
He is British born but will still count on the quota as he's non-fed trained.

How can you judge he's barely played for you from what I can see - I don't see how anything can be drawn from his Salford experience TBH. I have no axe to grind as I've never heard of him TBH but he must have had something for you to sign him.
TBH yo've gifted us some stonking players in recent times, MCB, BJB and especially Ashurst so we'll take him.

What else am I supposed to judge him on?
The signing was one that mystified Salford fans when it happened. It was probably to get an extra body into our small squad due to serious injury to Mossop. Turns out, he isn't very good, at least in the time with us that he's played. I'm not one for slagging-off players when they leave as seems to be the norm. Check back on any of my previous posts regarding ex-Salford players. Try MCB here on your own site.
I've got a lot of time for Wakey as I have said for years on here. Just being honest and optimistic for you and him. A change of scenery might bring the best out in him and you'll have yourself a decent player, but then again it might not. Just be prepared for the worst and you can only be pleasantly surprised if it's different.
