| Some suggestion that it's made it to the press, so more than just a forum rumour. The people behind the club have taken us from relegation almosts to top half of table in a couple of years. All you can do is trust the people making the decisions, and to date, they've made some good ones. If it is true, then there must be a good reason for it. The club will kick on, as it always does.

I thought we where looking to build a winning side and not make a fast buck out of our best young players. If Danny was not happy at Wakey then fairplay but I know he dosen't want to go anywhere. So come on Wakey
If he's happy he'll stay if he ain't he'll go, if jk is happy for him to leave I'm sure he'll get the best deal he can for the club, and I would imagine he would already have a replacement in mind, what with him being a clever fella, and all that.
Personally I can't see him going to shudds, fair enough they may be able to offer him more wages than us (I don't know) but is he any more likely to win silverware there than here??? Probably not!!

As far as I am aware the deal was done at board level behind his back. Allegedly of course.

| I don't like to see any player leave. And I think DB is a valuble asset. However his value on the field must be balanced with
i) what wage he commands (and will when his contract expires)
ii) what other playing assets we have (and what size of contract they command)
iii) and what assets we are planning to bring in.
The higher ups at the club have the responsibility to consider all these things. Plus if a club is prepaired to throw a six figure sum at us for one of our highest earners then the return will be significant.
Sure there is an important void that will need filling BUT JK and the higher ups have allowed better players than DB to leave BV and continued to eliver better results on the field.
I have seen no evidence that there is any reason to doubt the judgement of the directors or JK in this respect. Having said all that I'd be sad to see DB go.

Depends what the reasons are. The time of the year and how quickly this has come about points to one thing IMO. The transfers of Nathan Wood and Ben Westwood happened about this time too didn’t they?
EDIT: My mistake it was closer to June.

| I rate Brough highly and think he is a cracking player, could solve the half back problem at Wigan very well.
If this is true, i can understand the club wanting to cash in on him, as ultimatley he seems destined to go for free at the end of his current deal with a few clubs circling Saints is a name that will not go away, from a Trinity point of view especially at this time it would perhaps be sensible to cash in while you still have depth i the halves and look to bring in some quality off the back of that in the offseason, there are a good few halves coming off contract at the end of the year in the NRL.

| There is one consideration: I reckon our crowds are down a thousand on last year. With admission and spends at the ground, that will be around £20,000 per home game. Over the year, that would be £260,000.
As a business, the club has got to balance the books, and we do not want any salary cap infringements to hamper the next franchise bid, on the chance that the ground is delayed (not sure the RFL will buy a third "we've got a new ground on the way" application).
He's a great player, but we did okay without him earlier on, and we'll do okay without him later on. Solomona is a great player, and still is, but we have bettered our league position each year without him. One player does not make a team, and can sometimes weaken it, as a playmaker on an off-day can lose a game, as there is no other go-to man.

Yeh but thats the point ,he's one of the best british half backs, why cash in and then spend a pile of money on some waste of space NRL player. he's still got this and next season on his contract left. Keep him!!!

You have to consider the options and implications, if a club meets the valuation of him by Trinity then it may be the best option.
As i said its the first i have heard of this but i guess you will just have to trust the club who do have a good track record of making the right decisions when it comes to player movement.
