| When I looked up the Super League table last night at about 10pm the BBC Sport site showed the league table with Wakefield Trinity having 5 pts and Hull FC with 6 pts. When I looked again about 10 mins later we had 4 pts and Hull FC still had 6 pts. Whilst I don't agree with the Golden Point at all, perhaps 1 point for the "losers" and " 2 for the "winner" would be preferable, but surely a fairer way would be to give the points to the side scoring the most trys; after all that's the aim of the game. The absolutely best and fares secenario would, of course, be for both sides to receive a point each. Another embarrassment for the game of rugby league, I say!!!

| FFS, a draw is a draw.
One point each.
As if the players haven't given enough in 80 minutes trying to win it or get a draw.
We can thank that useless grinning bell end Elstone for the debacle that is golden point.

Golden Point is a farce, the coin toss gives a huge advantage to the team receiving the ball. Not down to skill, luck.

| I'm fairly sure that in American Football, if it is tied at the end of normal time, then in extra time, if the receiving side scores with their first possession the other team is then allowed to receive the ball to see if they too can score with their first possession. surely this would be a fairer solution ??

I’m sick of hearing “ it’s only because you lost” in a cup tie then yes play till a winner, talk to someone who was involved and was gutted after, not to get anything out of it, like you say BG, both teams gave their all, I know this stupid rule is in but doesn’t make it right, only in RL and you wonder why we always play second fiddle.

Exactly the GP was first copied from the NFL for TV networks in OZ. Our interpretation of the rules is an abomination. How can you have a sudden death shoot out with only one team having a shot. It's like having a penalty shoot-out in Football when the winner of toss takes the 1st penalty to win outright.

| I felt really sorry for our lads when that Sneyd goal went over. They looked totally distraught like losers in a cup final and rightly so. Whilst the HFC lads were, understandably, leaping up and down in ecstacy. Really tough!!
I just can't think of one good reason whatsoever to support this Golden point joke of a rule.

| I have always thought that this golden point rule was an absolute farce. What is wrong with two teams that have gone toe to toe over 80 minutes taking a point each. Hull battered us in the first half, we couldn’t cope with their intensity they were superb, second half was a different story we were much the better side and put ourselves with a chance of winning the game. A point each would have been a fair reflection of the game.
Every season though the rfl seem to
Want to change the rules and we are left scratching our heads as to what is going on, the only rule that needs changing in my opinion is a contested scrum, if not why do we bother?

Spot on! that's my moan about it - you might as well say we'll toss a coin to see who wins the game. Injustice.
It would be a fairer to say the club that scored the most tries wins it! BUT I don'd advocate that either- a draw is a draw, end of.

I would guess that 99% of the crowd knew Hull would probably win because of Sneyd being present. Did they win the actual toss and choose to receive?

I don't know Wollo - I assume so. Think I'd want first crack at it. I have to say it must be very rare for a team to score from the first set, but it CAN happen as we saw and that's what makes it grossly unfair. Only Hull had an opportunity to win it!
