My point is that we have more than enough cover at halfback, Brough, Miller, Reynolds, Rocky, Jowitt and even probably Wood. Who have we got for the wing? Especially when you look at MCB’s record for us, it speaks volumes in iteself.
I get that Reynolds was probably signed thinking more long term, I have no problem with him or the signing of him. I just can’t see him playing a right lot until Broughs departure and considering how it’s been made clear in the past that we have “limited funds”, a signing like that could come to bite a club like ours in the backside. Short term of course so providing we have cover for the wings, it shouldn’t really matter but out of the two I would prefer MCB. What’s wrong with that?'"
I did and wingers will never be as important as pivot players, you simply can't have to many - also Hampshire is clearly going to be played as a FB whilst Jowitt has played twice at HB at A team level. That actually only leaves Broough 36, Miller and Reynolds. Also we have deprived Cas of the chance to sign one of the better second string HB's, which in itself is a coup. I know Cas will call him a reject but right now I reckon the coaching staff would take him.
Wingers we can cover, TJ, BJB, Lyne, Tupou, Kershaw and Hooley - in an emergency there are no shortage of wingers out there to get on loan, SH's with a kickijng game, find one if you can who obviously isn't overseas.
So yes I don't get the reason why you lumped Reynolds in - you should have stopped at having MCB back if we had the money IMHO, I would have agreed with that so why embelish it to the detriment of another player. If saying you prefer an ex-player to a new one who's done nothing wrong is liking the lad then lets hope you never turn on him.
