| Accountant or not its a good job he did. Investing into a sports club is never a logical thing to do. People do it because they want to.

| The only thing I don't understand is Tim was sold to pay the wage bill for August, was any money left over.
I remember when Danny B was sold to Shudds for a SUBSTANTIAL FEE, we got £30,000. Not that substantial.Tim must have been worth at least £80,000
Either our wage bill is well over the top or we only got enough to cover the wage bill and got a sad amount for Tim

| You are missing the point why didn't Mr Carter check the books before now? Accountant on the board someone who has invested money surely I would be checking the books making sure everything added up months ago!

If you say you have ploughed quite a lot of your own money into the club, why being a accountant and probably the only accountant on the board why didn't you ever request to see the books before we got into this mess. I know you have seen them recently but if I was putting money into a club I would want to see the finances? Especially being an accountant it would be the logical thing to do?
This does not add up and I want to him to answer.'"
I can understand why you are thinking these things, similar thoughts have also crossed my mind. He could have asked these questions and he could have been answererd in lies, who knows ?
However the guy is working his socks off trying to pull things around. I am happy for him to do that. Give the bloke a chance he must be very busy right now and let him concentrate on the future and leave the past behind.

Am not sure on our present wage bill but many think its around £1.2M . That's an handy figure because it suggests we need to find around £100K per month to pay the players. To me that indicates we got around £100K for Tim Smith so If am not to far out with my estimates then that seems a reasonable deal to me.
If the transfer fee has also paid the staff wages as well as the players then I would say its a shrewd bit of business.

| The story I heard for Smiths transfer fee, and i've no idea if correct, was 150K based on 100K up front and a possilbe extra 50K if it leads to Salford winning some silverware.
So it will be 100K.

If so it certainly will give us something to cheer about whilst Trinity atempt to stave of relegation next year.

| Thanks for that Jack in the box that sounds about right to me. 100k a month, bloody hell. On that estimate the club will require 500k during the closed season , it starts to stack up.
I estimate about 3,000 people attend matches above ST sales so that about £66,000per game. If its 4,000 that would be £88,000, either way not enough to pay the wages and not including everyday costs.

| As I understand it we make about 70k on a good day and as low as 10k on a bad day.
Shows why having the three big home games at the end of the season can make a difference.
A big crowd at the Cas game is essential

[code“I have to stick my hand up,” said the 44-year-old, who hails from Hull.
“I was involved a year ago so it’s partly my fault. I was a shareholder and I should have been asking the same questions.
“I did the accounts up until last November and then stepped aside. We brought somebody in to do them and it went badly wrong."[/code
Hopefully that answers your question.

It was much lower than that against Catalans apparently.

Doesn't that beg more questions though? Is he saying that there wasn't a problem until November? If that's the case does this mean that the defecit has been run up in 8 months? Who became responsible from November and what was their experience? What, if anything, has happened to that person(s)? That's just on the face of it too.
