| Stopped a try, gave away a penalty. Should definitely be more than just a penalty.

| He also denied Lee Smiths' try and allowed one of their conversions which was given by the touch judges when it clear went slightly wide, I was fuming!

The 'goal' was very close - not sure about that.
The only explanation for the 'try' is that he had already called 'held' - if he had, then the ball was dead before Smith touched it down and therefore correct decision. Any other explanation would be wrong, as the ball definitely touched the line.

I was sat right behind the sticks and my eyes saw it go slightly wide. Another one is where we got a back to 1 situation and then Raleigh gets the ball and kicks still thinking its the 5th and as soon as he regains it the Roby decided to say it was the 6th and handover. He did do some bad decisions for both teams

| He hadn't given back to one for the played-at ball before Raleigh kicked, though, making that two times we ought to have had another 6 play-the-balls...and I agree, Smith's try was good, and 'that' kick was wide.

| Roby wasn't even going to give a penalty when our player was taken out even though he had a perfect view. Thankfully, the touch judge who was quite a distance from it, put his flag up. Should have been a sinbin, but Roby's performance was pretty clueless for both sides

| Don't have twitter but he should get some bashing this week and be made accountable for these sort of mistakes.

| The referee was shocking that night. I know first hand that Hull fans were unhappy with his performance yet I know that us Wakey fans had a lot more grievances. Particularly with 3 separate occasions when our player kicked through and was taken out. I thought the first one definitely warranted a spell in the sin bin.
Few people are talking about Holdsworth's second conversion. I was sat in a good position behind the sticks and am adamant that the ball went wide yet both touch judges' flags went up.
In spite of many grievances for the referring I have grievance with our team as well. I felt they under performed, fell off tackles and the defence opened up too easily. They did however put in a much stronger and more determined effort in the 2nd half.
Hull were solid, tight in defence and good value for their victory. I can't take away from the fact that they deserved the win and on the night we were beaten by a better team.

| Quote: supercat "Just watched these and wasn't at the game. Can someone tell me if their fullback was binned as he clearly takes smith out after he chips over and he moves to the side to do this so you can't say he ran in to him. Plus there wasn't a man behind fullback so to me stopped a try scoring opportunity. To me should have been 10 in the bin. Also when Aiton takes 3 near to line Whiting flys out of defense clearly offside but also there is a man inside who is offside as well and gets involved with the man taking the inside pass from smith as he had to change his direction to attack from whiting.'"
Watched it again today and there are 3 players (including Whiting) clearly offside at that play the ball. COuldn't be easier to spot either as they should have been behind the line and yet 2 players are stood directly in front of the 2 uprights - no possible way for them to be onside.

I wasn't there, but were Hull smart enough to exploit this while we weren't? A lesson we need to learn, I think. Some teams seem to alter their game depending on which ref they've got, and our first instinct is to claim bias by the ref (I don't buy that) but maybe we're just not savvy enough to adapt our game?
N.B. I freely admit bad-mouthing refs on many an occasion, but see this as a duty

That's bang on in my opinion. I've said loads of times that we need to play to the whistle and if a ref is penalising certain offences but letting others go we need to be smart enough to adapt to that.
Now I've never played the game to any standard so I don't know how possible that is from an on-field perspective but surely it should be obvious to coaches watching the game and easy enough to send out a message to the players.

For the avoidance of doubt, I'm not claiming bias - I'm claiming ineptitude; neither side were square at the ptb all night, the ruck was a mess and Hull scored a couple with blatant obstructions. And yes, Lee Smith did ground the ball.
He's totally out of his depth in SL games.
