| The delay is beginning to become quite worrying. Newmarket was given the initial go ahead in June on basis further information was presented by September? My understanding is that this was all a formality and wouldn’t put a spanner in the works. We are now nearly a further 2 months down the line and are yet to hear anything. It would be good if the club issued a statement to let the supporters know exactly what is happening and put our minds at rest.

| The reason for the delay has been reported in earlier threads and is to do with land aquisition which I'm afraid takes time. There is no reason for anyone to become worried or concerned.
It will happen. Just have faith and be patient for a little longer.

| Things are moving in the background, but nothing we can report on yet.
Not too long now - stay patient!

If i had a quid coin for everytime you've said that i would not be going to work this morning, sadly i am.
You and me are not getting any younger, any chance it will happen before the marbles go?

What's a few weeks more - it's not like you can pull your hair out!
IF all goes to plan and we move in at the beginning of 2015 - the start of the next round of licences - then it will be just passed the 10 year mark for SWAG. We started towards the end of 2004 and had no idea how long any of this would take - it was the proverbial 'leap of faith'. If we'd said then that we'd be 10 years - but we'll have a result at the end of it - would people have got on board? But if they hadn't given us their backing then, we wouldn't be so close now!
10 years is also the timescale given by 1873 as to how long it will take to fully re-establish this club - despite appearing to be well ahead of schedule in several areas. 10 years is also the length of time the RFL should be planning ahead - both for domestic and international competitions. You can tinker with the plans - and reflect the reality encountered, but a general plan of what you want the competitions to look like - number of clubs / games - should be a long term goal - not a bloody knee-jerk after every season.
Anyway, the point is - stay patient - for one, there is little we can do at this stage and, for two, good things are worth waiting for!

See, you've done it again and i'll ignore the last bit thank you.
I understand and so do most others on here but its difficult to explain it to people at work, they don't have the same faith/hope that we do.

| I still feel relatively relaxed - we do land transactions at work all the time on a much smaller scale and I know that once it gets into the hands of the solicitors, everything grinds to a halt - and they won't be rushed by anyone.
It's tempting to call for a statement from the club and/or YCP, but that could end up as a Richard Wright-esque non-statement which in my view, is less helpful than hearing nothing at all.

Think of this not as a Birthday present, but as an 18th Birthday present - it will only come around once in your lifetime - but boy, is it worth the wait!

| Though I understand people impatience I really don't get the worrying bit. My own belief has always been not to believe it until the diggers are on site and I'll stick with that for now so worry for me will remain present even after any announcement regarding planning.
For those involved right from the start (2004) this current delay barely registers. It doesn't help that there are people out there who are happily peddling doom and gloom stories for the purposes of their own agenda. But as I say it's not the most worrying point we have been at so far, fingers crossed it never is.
What you need to remember is that the Stadium is a small part of a larger development. It's crucial but not the reason NM is being built, that is for pure profit. This is business and it's calculated and hard headed and the desire of Trinity fans to be in NM is fast as possible is not high on the agenda. Added to this a still tricky economy and it's bound to move slow. Personally have no idea, could be tomorrow could be next year. What I do believe is the momentum is still there and when it happens it will rocket forward.
