Unfortunate but not entirely unexpected. Not like he was a regular of late either. The world hasn’t stopped turning, Wakefield Trinity and life moves on.

I wish Tom all the best and thank him for the unbelievable tries he had scored.
We move on however and I like the look of Murphy and Evans . I think we’re ok in that department so they’d be my first choice wingers from now on.

Wakefield Trinity can confirm that Tom Johnstone will leave the club at the expiration of his contract join Catalans Dragons.
I know statistics can be twisted and Tom wouldn’t have played many game for the first couple of years, but 116:appearances in 10 years, ave 11.6 games a season, although well worth the money when he did play

Johnstone, who is out of contract at the end of the season, has opted to join the French club, bringing an end to his 10-year stay at Trinity.

The winger, who has scored 87 tries in 116 appearances for Trinity, made his first-team debut in 2015 and quickly established himself as a regular in that side.

Good luck for the future Tom. It was to be expected but lets not pretend it isn’t a blow. Getting him on the field has always been a problem but when he was he has been a true match winner, we’d have been in a much bigger hole without him. There is also the image to the outside world of us losing our best players again. Still it is what it is, Miller the next out of the door i reckon.

A rare talent. I have watched this team since the 60's and he is right up there with some of the greats.this had to happen at some point as we all knew he would go to pastures new sooner or later.
