| Best "all round" player in the Super League era imho. Privileged to see him in the Trinity jersey . I just wish he'd spent more time here during his formative years rather than Huddersfield. "A great bit of business", it was claimed at the time when we replaced him with Paul Cooke. Thanks for the experience Broughie!!!

| March 2019 at headingley epitomises everything that Danny stood for , when he races in for his try in front of the Wakefield faithful, I’ll never forget that look Of euphoria on his face and what it meant to him to score for his club. A star of the game which the likes of don’t come around too often , thanks for the memories Danny

Well I think we all know that Brough moving to Hudds was pretty much out of our hands.
Other than that the best player Trinity have produced in the SL era. Ellis and Westwood were exceptional and TJ is a total entertainer but when it comes down to playing the game Brough was the best. His ability to read the game was exceptional and had he not suffered occasional lapses of concentration both on and off the field he’d have spent 10 years in the England jersey.
The only thing that ever held Brough back was Brough.

| Wish he'd had chance to play against the big guns in internationals.
I think he'd have been at home there.

| He had the best all round kicking game I’d ever seen, not to his fanatic passing game and excellent defence. Should of been a regular England international.

I tend to agree but who knows for sure. People said he was too temperamental but I don't hold with that. When you're permanently the underdog then at that level emotion and the nerve to do something different can change a game.

| Think he got ask to play for England but had been left out by the England coach so many times he told them to stuf it and played for Scotland. The same kind of thing that happens to Bries at Wires .By far the best but if your face does not fit you got no chance

It's not just your face, it's your club.

| Exceptional talent. Had all the skills. Up there with the best I’ve seen and that’s in many, many years of involvement in the game.

| Flawed genius.
Absolutely exceptional on his day and a fierce competitor.
Things could and possibly have been different for him and to see some of the dross that we had playing at HB for England & GB when Brough was "overlooked" is an absolute travesty.
Superb player that we've been lucky to have at Trinity !

| His asset was his weakness. He had that fire in his belly and able to take risks. However, it spilled over too often to make him reliable enough to play for England.
Last game at Wakefield during his first proper spell? Sent off at Hull KR. Beating Celtic Crusaders 50-0 and gets sent off for abusing a touch judge. Goes to a World Cup and gets sent home for boozing.
Great player but keeping his edge in check was his downfall, but it was his edge that made him great when it was in check.

| Will always be a hero at Hull for his drop goal against Leeds that proved decisive in the 2005 Cup final at Cardiff. Like many have said a flawed genius, but not many can be one without the other it seems and a truly great scrum half.
