| A big day for lots of players on both sides today and for Trinity, getting through the afternoon will be top of the list.
It will be great to see Johnstone and Tupou back in the RW&B, plus a run out for some of our youngsters Bailey, Greensmith & Aydin and a debut for Westerman.
If Westerman can stay healthy, he could be an excellent signing.
KR have been extremely busy in the transfer market and have named 12 of their TWENTY new signings, a truly huge amount of new players and with them being our first game of the new season, I hope it takes them a long time to gel
It will be interesting if the 2 coaches try and keep back some of the plays that they intend to use for when it gets serious but, with the new season only 19 days away, they will want to be happy that things are progressing to plan.
Come on Trin !

| Decent tough first half, no injuries, job done imo, rest the returnees no need to push. Let a few young ones have a go.

| I know you shouldn’t read too much into friendly’s but and it’s easier to see things when you’ve won but I was disappointed with HKR who I thought struggled to create much in our half, I know we had our moments as well but were better in defence all over the field.

Said the same, all those half backs in the team and they only managed 2 chances all game.
Also seems like it could be a nasty injury for Masoe, never good seeing a player leave the pitch on a stretcher

| HKR have a poor team, one of the favourites to go down with the bookies.

I know this was in jest but I had a look at the odds, fairly refreshing to see the bookies not have us so short.
This is with Betfred.
"To finish bottom"
Hull KR - 2/1
Huddersfield - 3/1
Wakefield - 9/2
Toronto - 5/1
Salford 11/2
Catalans - 16/1
The difference between 2/1 and 9/2 is huge and hopefully this is a clear indication that we're no longer seen as the whipping boys and last seasons joint bottom finish hasn't had as much effect on us as it could.
Catalans is a very interesting one, I don't think they'll finish bottom but 16/1 suggests they'll be nowhere near and I really wouldn't be shocked to see them in a similar position to us last year. They have some real quality (IMO) in Maloney but should a few players pick up some injuries I think they could be in some trouble!

Trinity didn't finish joint bottom last season, I think you will find that London & KR shared the "glory"
We were a solid 2 points above both of them and actually finished 9th
As for the betting odds, you probably need a lesson from Vastman (if you can still find him on here ).

It's changed now anyway but I was just making the point that we are not in a position to look down on HKR just yet.
I think you've said this before but we get this debate every year about bookies odds. They are variable based on how they think people will bet rather than where they think teams will finish.

I always enjoyed Vastman's annual sermon about how odds are calculated - particularly useful for someone who's set foot in a bookies about 3 times in my entire life.
I think the general gist was - the only function is to make money for the bookie.
