| At the present time I think this will be tricky. We should just about have enough to get the result but we need to see improvements in most positions. Back to basics for me and grind a win out.

| This is a HUGE game for both sides and for very different reasons.
It's fair to say that Leeds are in crisis and their form has deserted them.
Leeds forwards have been awful this season but, they are desperate for league points to try and keep away from the SL trapdoor.
There are plenty of theories already on why Leeds wouldn't be allowed to be relegated but, that isn't our concern.
I agree with Lampboy that, for Trinity, this is about grinding out a win, no matter what it takes.
2 points puts us right back in the mix and keeps us just ahead of the chasing pack.
It's a pity that, if Fifita is still missing, Pauli isn't available.
Although his minutes were a long way from being sufficient, I really dont think that Leeds have anyone that could cope with him.
Should be a big crowd and a cracking atmosphere at BV and the thought of beating Leeds 3 times in the season is pretty special.
Come on Trin !

| Leeds should be strong favorites , they will be at full strength, they have had two weeks rest and time to re group. We are battered, bruised , injured , out of form, disjointed, leaderless on the field.

| TBF beating a decent Leeds team 3 times in a season would be special, it’s just this Leeds team is far from decent.
The team better start pulling their fingers out their arris.

Don`t think for one minute Leeds will be at full strength.
Doubts about Walker, Ferres and Hurrell and no Peteru, Crosby, Ablett, JJB and Ward.
Two halfbacks who might as well be injured and I would say even with your injuries you are still favorites to win.

| I don't see them as favourite.
If we play at the level we played against Sts we would beat Leeds.
Our own attitude is going to be the difference. One way or another.

| Perfect time to be playing the comedy club that is Leeds. They are in disarray on the field, plenty of unrest behind the scenes, some of which is yet to come out, and newly refurbed stadium that could turn out to be the biggest and most expensive white elephant in history the way they are going. After all those years of them lording over clubs like us it’s nice to see the boot on the other foot for a while.
As for the game there is nothing to fear there, they are extremely poor. If our attitude is right i’m confident we will win relatively comfortably.

I'm stunned about Callum Watkins saying he'll go at the end of the year
I thought he'd be a one club man
There is clearly something v wrong at leeds
Any chance of some info on what you think it is SC? Or rather what is yet to come out ?

The club is split down the middle. Now the stadium is up and running Hetherington is on the wind down to retirement and has put all his eggs in the Sinfield basket who has managed to take a bad situation and make it a whole lot worse. ‘Sir’ Kev is way out of his depth.

As I read it sir Kev has asked Watkins to fall on his sword to free up some money within the salary cap for some team strengthening.Watkins has been a shadow of himself since he came back from injury, to me it’s his confidence and not a problem with his repaired acl ,so much for loyalty.Hopefully time away from Leeds will do him the world of good but at present ,he’s going up in the shop window as a centre, not firing on all cylinders, with would think a hefty price tag.

| It probably says a lot about Kallum that he is willing to renegotiate the contract he had two years left to run.
I've said on our board already but I'm really torn on this. Current form, you don't want to be paying him mega bucks. However, it's a huge decision from Sinfield and the pressure is on to get the next couple of recruitment decisions (on and off the field) absolutely spot on or he is in the brown stuff.
A lot are drawing comparisons between the situation at Leeds now and the one in 03-04. Junior ranks seem stacked with talent but we need some of the senior players to move on in order for them to get a shot. Don't get me wrong, Watkins would've been way down my list of players to get rid of but I would guess the final 2 years of his deal would've taken up a fair old wedge of cap space and we're desperate for a half back. Fingers crossed we manage to keep Hurrell and Newman fit next year and spend the money on a top half.

| I'm not surprised Watkins fell on his sword as he seems like a good guy who would help his team out but I hope he got a good deal out of it as he's just thrown a big money contract away he may not be able to replace.

I'd be very surprised if he didn't already have something wrapped up. Be very brave/foolish to walk away without something at least.
Was listening to an agent last week who reckons Watkins was offered big money deals by several clubs a few years back but turned them all down to stay at Leeds on less money. He reckons over his career, it's probably cost Kallum in excess of £1 million in his back pocket. Now that could well be agent hyperbole but it would appear money isn't his number 1 motivator- at least it hasn't been in the past anyway... Given his injury, I couldn't blame him if this has changed. It's a short career and a long injury just makes that even more obvious.
You don't mind taking less money when things are going swimmingly and you're taking all the big prizes but I dare suggest that's not the case when league positions start to slip as they have at Headingley.
